1) My children are driving me crazy. It's been weeks since I had some alone time and they've been sick and OH MY GOD CLAIRE WON'T LET ME PUT HER DOWN LIKE AT ALL AND I'M GOING TO GO NUTS.
2) My house is a disaster and H invited people over for dinner tonight. And he's working. And they're screaming. And he so owes me.
3) The house we saw yesterday was an AWESOME old house (American four square for you nerds like me) in need of some love, but it's been DQ'd because the yard was too small.

Your H better be cooking or somethin'. He owes you. I hope you can get a child free break very soon
I love your dream house, and the price is good to this Californian! But still a lot, I get it. So, can I say: DO NOT GO SEE IT. If you can't get it, nothing will compare. I did this to myself, I know from experience! And I love four squares...and craftsman. I would love to buy a craftsman next, but they are few and far between here and rarely go up for sale. Oh, and we aren't moving for a looooong time, or ever.
That's a great house! The only thing I'm not a fan of it the tile countertops in the kitchen. I love that bathroom!
Yeah, I haaaate tile countertops. Our current (rental) kitchen has that little hex tile as countertops. OMG. It makes me insane. That and the fact that the sink is an octagon-shaped single-tub located in a corner. I literally couldn't reach the sink while pregnant at the end, because my belly made my arms too short to get to it in its weird corner.

Ernie, I love the zillow house! Wheel and deal :-)
Sounds like your husband needs a swift kick in the rear.
Both girls ate starting to get colds, or something, here. H's 50/50 remembering to cover her mouth is driving me batty. At least we ate at the 50/50 point but please stop coughing on me!

You need a gas mask!
H offered to cancel the dinner, but it made me feel like an ass, because we've been trying to get together with these people for a while, and I don't like to go out these days thanks to bedtime, and I don't really want to leave sick babies with a sitter. So... it's partially my fault for not letting him cancel, but it's still mostly his fault
I totally LOVE that house too! You deserve the house and I think since he owes you this is a good starting place - the house. Get him in there and start your negotiating.
Hope the rest of the day gets better. Is bringing Etta to daycare an option? Even tomorrow?

Yeah, I think tomorrow might be a daycare day for one or both, providing their various ailments are improved. I just need to a) do a lot of stuff around the house and b) take a nap.
Of course you want the house with the LEED certified roof.
Actually, that house looks awesome.
Also, yes, your H owes you big time.
I'm trying to use the roof, rain barrels, and garden to convince my husband this house is somehow meant for us. Also, that we need a third bedroom since we're staying here and his family will surely want to visit. We shall see if maybe we can get them to negotiate on price...

That house is meant for you! And it definitely can't hurt to try to negotiate

I would say take the nap so you can recharge. There is always the weekend or Monday as an option for cleaning. Hopefully they are feeling better tomorrow.
That house is stunning! I love everything! Did you see that stove? The ample cupboard space? The sun room??? Ahhhhh! I love it! DH and I are looking at new houses too (ours is sold conditionally, to be firmed up tomorrow). We love this one www.remax.ca/on/pickering-real-estate/4880-old-brock-rd-treb_e2521766-lst/ but it's 20 minutes away from transit which would defeat the purpose of us moving closer to my job.

Love that! The beams in the ceilings and the floors especially! And what an amazing deck and back yard!
