What do you do when you're going out to a restaurant and planning to have a "cheat" night? My anniversary is next week and I'm just eating whatever and drinking cocktails. Do I just use all of my flex points and call it a day or would you try to calculate it somehow?

It's such an "expected" place to go for an anniversary dinner BUT I am a sucker for the romance! I love it there. I feel like they must see people get engaged there SO often.
Haha we went there for our anniversary. Whatever it's intimate and cute and hello the food. I love it there. For whatever reason it seems so random, nondescript . Almost like a secret.
I'd count them just to see how many points I used. Sometimes I'm surprised that I didn't actually use all my weeklies. It puts things into perspective anyway.

What do you do when the food is hard to figure out though? Did you see the menu I posted? I have no idea how to calculate that stuff.
Wow! That all sounds so amazing! You're really going to have to look at positions to figure it out, but I'll base my estimations on fancy-resaurant portions.
I imagine the tuna is going to be max 2 oz but quite possibly much much less considering its an app. 1 pt for the tuna, probably less than a quarter avocado (2 pts) veg and fruit are free, there's going to be some dressing, I'll count as 2pts if it looks like there is a tablespoon. Total 5 pts and I think I'm being pretty generous.
The duck is tough because I don't know how it's prepared.. If it appears to be five oz and cooked with the skin I would estimate 13 pts, the chestnuts are likely so scant that I would count them as 1. If the trevisano is prepared with a dressing I'd count it as 2, but if it is braised I would assume that the portion is small enough to be 0. The perigourdine, if it is a sauce could be quite points heavy because of butter. I'd take it as the points equivalent of a hollandaise which is 4 pts for two tablespoons. So, total could be 20. But also could be less.
Carrot cake I'll count as standard piece of carrot cake.. 18 pts.
Cocktail - 4, assuming its mostly champagne and about 4 oz
That's not so bad, if you went light on your points for the rest of the day, you might not even use up all your flex, or maybe you'll use your extra points on more champagne!

I would call it an anniversary freebie and just assume all my flex points had been used...this may be why I haven't lost as much as I would have liked to by this point!
I just say that I'm using my weekly points but I don't actually count them up. Then I make sure the rest of the week that I don't go over my daily points at all.
