A new position became available within my department that I am very interested in. It is reporting to a different manager than my current, but someone that I have reported to in the past. She is fabulous and I'd love to work with her again. Her service line is really where I want to be with my career ultimately. Her team is great and I respect them all. This position is brand new and I would be the only one in it.
Here's the dilemma. I'm 10 weeks pregnant. I'm not ready to tell work, but at the same time, I'd hate to take the position, then have to be out for 3 months fairly soon.
You are going to have to take off no matter what. It is the same company so younshould have to worrybabout losing benefits. Why not go back to a job with an awesome manager? Apply!!

I would apply for the new position, and in the course of the interview be up-front about the pregnancy. I know people differ in their opinions about this, and that you don't have to do it, but I think it's the right thing to do.

You pretend that you aren't pregnant as far as applying for the job goes. It's none of their business yet and it shouldn't keep you from a job that you want and are qualified for.
Not saying I'm pregnant is also the advice I got when I asked a week or so ago. I applied for a job in our group last week. I'm 20wks on Saturday. Not sure how long I can hide the pregnancy, but I'll try not to say anything as long as possible. I notified them about my first when I was ~24wks.
FYI, I may end up telling them at the interview depending on when it is. My bump may be too obvious then for people to wonder. I don't think it will be totally a bad thing since me being off for 4mos will not really affect much (I think).

Because its within the same company, the maternity leave situation should be the same for both jobs, right?
I took a new job when I was also 10w. My manager told me that 12w maternity leave was a drop in the bucket compared to the long term value of a good employee.
