Our first glider which was really nice was broken by my husband. It will cost $175 to fix it. Since this is our last child I am not really interested in spending that kind of money to fix it or spending a lot on a new one. I will need an inexpensive option to at least last me a year. Any suggestions or creative chair options other than a glider that were comfy for nursing in the nursery?
I fell asleep a lot. There is also a cheap Poang knock-off in there. I've never wished for a glider. We do have one (in the living room) that got no love.

I got a Graco one from Walmart a couple of years ago. It was around $160 and isn't as nice as the $600 ones, but it does the job and is pretty comfy as long as you aren't extremely tall (according to the reviews.) I'm 5'5" so it serves me well. But it may not make sense to spend $160 on a lower quality one when you can just fix your nice one for a few bucks more.
We got the one from Wal-Mart that was $99. We've been using it for almost 6 years now and three kids and it has been perfectly fine. I expect that we will be able to move it into the living room when DS weans and it will probably be around for more years.
Is the Poang comfortable? I have seen quite a few nursury pics with that as the chair.
I think it is, but I don't like gliders at all. I like that there isn't much movement unless you want there to be. With a newborn and small infant I did need a small pillow behind me, but now that she is older it's fine. I find those chairs to be super comfy in general and I like that it has use after kids, whereas a classic looking glider screams nursery.
