I just tried the half Dawn/ half white vinegar mixture in a spray bottle to clean my shower. wow! It hasn't been that shiny since ever. The grout is still stained red from our old rusty pipes that have since been replaced, but the tile is gleaming!! I'm seriously amazed. It is so bright that when I took a shower after it felt like I had replaced a dim light lib with a brighter one.
I didn't search it, someone I follow pinned it and it sounded like a good idea so I repinned it. Today I finally got around to doing it. I just started with Pinterest recently when I realized it had an iPhone app, and it's pretty fun actually. I don't spend a ton of time, but I check it a few minutes a day. I would say don't do it, save your time, but I haven't found something to get rid of some serius soap scum buildup until now, so that alone makes the time suck worth it.
Yes, about a cup of each, shake and spray. I left it on for about 20 minutes but an hour would probably be better. My tile was bad. I havent scrubbed the entire area in waaaay too long and some spots have like 50 years of soap scum. Those areas I really put elbow grease into, like sweat dripping in my eyes. But the tub area cleaned super easy. Looking at it now that it's dry I'll do it one more time on the side. The front and back areas look like the tile was put in yesterday. And now that I look at it a lot of the red stains in the grout actually are cleaned up significantly. I've tried every product on the shelves at Publix. From now on its Dawn and white vinegar all the way.
I saw that pin in my feed and was wondering if it worked (some pins I've tried have been a total bust - like a nasty "taco seasoning mix"). I might need to make some up
