Seems like Raynes and I are in the same boat. DS2 has taken up standing at the crib rail as soon as he wakes up and wailing away. He knows how to sit himself down, is the annoying part. I think he's gotten used to us coming in to him, so he doesn't wake DS1 (they share)
The last week every time he stirred in the night, he would immediately stand up. God only knows what is going on in this kid's head ^o) He's been doing this every couple of hours. I am exhausted. Last night he was standing at 11pm, 1am, 3am, 4am, 5am. Up for the day.
So, DS1 is going to sleep in our room on his camping stretcher for a few nights so we can let DS2 figure it out. ie. CIO. I feel bad about it, but I don't think there's any other option??

Ah, sorry. The standing is a fairly new thing? He's probably just perfecting his new trick and then the fun will wear off (probably not soon enough for you though!). I hope you get some sleep soon! I'm sure Cruz will love being in mom and dad's room too. I'm sure, like you said, Beau has gotten used to someone coming and rescuing him when he's standing, so he'll soon figure out that's not the case anymore!
No words of wisdom, just sympathy. My step-son has spent quite a few nights in the bed with me and DH has slept on the couch when LOs antics have given me no other choice. Good luck and hopefully it will be short lived!
Thanks guys. Charlie, actually it's not really a new thing which is what makes it even more annoying that he's obsessing about it right now - he could pull up before but it just seems like lately he's wanting to do it all the time in bed. Something's gone off in his little head and he thinks bed is the best place to stand, or something?!
The kids are having arvo nap right now, Cruz in our room and he's loving it. Our house is small so there's no other place. The 3rd bedroom with the wines & workout gear doesn't have a closeable door/not dark.
Thanks for asking It went pretty well, considering. DS2 woke up a few times (standing, no doubt) and protested for a few minutes. Guess he figured he was on his own so he went back to sleep pretty quickly. He even made it to 6.20am. Glory Hallelujah. DS1 "slept in" too, until 6.15. :Y:
Oh no good. Owen is still limiting the standing to when he's first going down, so I haven't had to deal with that yet.
Today for nap 2 he was frantically gumming the top rail whenever he stood. It was a funny sight. Perhaps we finally have a tooth on the way? Or it's just something new.
