1. Have you ever (not on purpose) run into/seen someone IRL who you "knew" from here? Or, I suppose, that other place? Only on purpose at GTGs, never by accident

2. Which poster do you think you'd be most likely to run into? I'm honestly not sure who, if anyone, is nearby. I'm thinking juno, since we head to SF semi-regularly.

3. Who would you be able to recognize? I doubt I'd recognize anyone. I'm terrible at faces.

4. What would you do if you were the recognizer? Probably stand there and wonder if it was the actual person, while staring for an uncomfortably long period of time. Essentially I'd be creepy, but not on purpose.

5. What would you do if you were the recognizee? OMG, I'd be so excited. Probably stupidly so. There might be squealing.

2. Which poster do you think you'd be most likely to run into? Besides her, I always wonder if I'll ever run into Auntie since we live so close to eachother.

3. Who would you be able to recognize? I don't know if there's anyone I would be like "oooh, I know who you are" in a super certain way.

4. What would you do if you were the recognizer? It would depend - if it was someone who was very privacy conscious I probably wouldn't say anything but if I didn't think they'd be freaked out I'd probably be like "Hey, this might sound weird but..."

5. What would you do if you were the recognizee? I'd probably think it was cool. I don't really say very much on here that I'd mind having associated with me IRL so it wouldn't bother me.

I haven't run into anyone and known it. I think I'd be most likely to run into Kore or CajunMom based on where we live, but I don't think I'd recognize them because I've never seen a picture. I guess they might recognize me since I have a pic in my avatar. If I did run into someone and they recognized me, I'd hope they would say something.

In all my years on TK, TN, TB and now GBCN, I've only ever met one person IRL (ericanandy) and it was planned. I am so glad we met! When on my local board on TN, there was a girl I went to HS with and we acknowledged that, but we weren't friends in HS and lived far from each other now, so that's about it.

I would prob never say anything if I thought I saw someone out, but only b/c I'd be afraid it wasn't them and then I'd look like a weirdo.

I met Sierra at a football game once! I think I ran into someone who was on the Knot way back when (and, to my knowledge, doesn't post on GBCN). That was an experience I don't wish to redo.

I have run into two individuals from that other place. The first was while I was helping my niece plan her wedding. We were at the florist talking about the knot with a wedding planner who was sort of interning to learn the flower end of the business. He's pretty well known in Philly. But we got to talking about our respective knot-addictions and pet peeves and he blurted out "You're AOB, OMG!". Too funny.

The other was my neighbor. She posted a lot on the local nest board about random home buying/house questions in my neck of the woods. I answered a few about schools, trash companies and such. When she decided on a house and had the offer accepted she posted the MLS picture- it was the house next door.

2. Which poster do you think you'd be most likely to run into?

Probably Kaylie. I suspect we live relatively close and frequent many of the same stores.

3. Who would you be able to recognize?

Maybe. I'd probably wonder from which compartment of my life I knew her.

4. What would you do if you were the recognizer?

Introduce myself unless she seemed unfriendly or busy.

5. What would you do if you were the recognizee?

Say hi.

There have been a few women I've met that I've wondered if they might be on her/TN somewhere. They were just the right age/demographic. There was one person who saw me on TN and knew my DH from grad school. I don't remember who she was though. Oh, I did see my sister on TN once, but I didn't say anything about it. I'm not sure she knows I'm here/there. Luckily she didn't post anything about me

2. Which poster do you think you'd be most likely to run into? I think there are a few other bay area posters on other boards that I occasionally visit (CEP, MM), but I don't know what any of them look like. So I'm likely to share a BART or MUNI train with someone sometime, but I wouldn't know it. I think I've only ever posted a picture of myself once or twice, so Im not sure I'd be recognizable either.

3. Who would you be able to recognize? Maybe you. Probably wawa from her OOTD posts on CEP. Fox from her wedding picture posts from a while back. Sierra b/c she always has a pic in her posts. A few people from lurking on ML.

4. What would you do if you were the recognizer? Stare a little, move on, unless it was someone from D&R, then I might try to introduce myself if I could figure out how to do it not-weirdly.

5. What would you do if you were the recognizee? Depends. Creeper: Say hi, stay in a public place, try to escape. Not a creeper: Say hi, chat, maybe get coffee. D&R: Invite her to my house for a consult LOL.

1. When I was on TK, I didn't run into anyone not on purpose but another Knottie and I were having dinner together and we overheard a conversation at the restaurant about our local board. I didn't recognize the person nor did I introduce myself. It was totally strange and I was kind of weirded out about it.

2. ?? NYC is the biggest small town city. I bump into people I know unexpectedly at the time. Like one every month or so. I used to think it was strange but now I just come to expect it.

3., 4., 5. Most of my locals and S&B posters. I'd definitely shout out to anyone and hope they'd do the same for me.

I don't think I have run into any folks by coincidence. But I'm not sure what everyone looks like so I probably wouldn't know if I had. I'm not sure what Susie Derkins looks like, but I would probably be most likely to run into her. I'd say hello and hope she would do the same.

Apparently, there were some who didn't like me. After I stopped posting there, there was a post saying such. I only went back to find their board after I had spotted her somewhere. And now she works at the kids' doctor's office! Yay! /sarcasm

Not from here. I used to post on my local a lot, and I've randomly run into people I knew from there at like...home depot. what's hilarious is that once I recognized somebody's baby before I recognized them. I was eyeballing their stroller and thinking, "hmmm, I think that's the same stroller so-and-so on TN recommended. it is pretty cool looking" and then I thought, "oh, that's funny, the baby looks a lot like her son too!" and then I actually looked up at the person pushing it and realized it was her. We'd met IRL before at GTG's though, so it wasn't nearly as awkward as it could have been.

from here - huh...not sure. I know there are several DC area ladies, but I don't think anybody is over on my side of the beltway.

3. Who would you be able to recognize?

Fox for sure. But that might be it? We don't post pictures of ourselves here often!

4. What would you do if you were the recognizer?

Say hi! I'm shy, but there is no way I wouldn't be able to say something.

5. What would you do if you were the recognizee?

LOL, also say hi. Probably really awkwardly.

Someone from thebump (my month board) recognized me at a training. I moved 2k miles and ran into a bump person. No bueno. I still see her too because we are both involved with training work in the state.

3. Who would you be able to recognize? Again, not sure. There are some people I'm friends with on FB. So them.

4. What would you do if you were the recognizer? It would depend on where I was.

5. What would you do if you were the recognizee? I tried to act all nonchalant about it. But, it was someone from the bump and she knew WAY too much about my pregnancy, life, etc. It was so uncomfortable. I still cannot believe it happened.
