Well, I just got back from the OB, and I'm 4 cm dilated. That was a surprise. She said something about a posterior cervix and still thinks I'll be at my next appointment on Monday, but I also need to pay attention to any contractions, obviously. She also said if I were to call with contractions and come in, she wouldn't send me home at this point. So, now I'm packing my bag and taking care of other details. Wait and see :-)
Lily has finally started to get excited about the baby, I think. This weekend she said she can't wait until the new baby comes, and she likes to give him hugs and kisses, and it's completely adorable.
Amelia and Abigail are doing well. Still haven't done the 18 month appointment. It is hard to get it scheduled with our care arrangements (she is rarely willing to watch the girls in our home). They still have the awful cough from the colds they had at Christmas. It is bad a night and early in the morning.
They have been sleeping a little later in the morning. Is this normal? They were 6AMers for a long time. Then it was 7:15-ish and now they roll out at around 8AM. This is good for me, because my body wakes me up at 7AM, so if I get out of bed (without waking wither of them...which I am like, ninja-awesome at) I can get up and have the coffee going and maybe even make it and read the headlines before they get up.
I am picking up on more and more words they are saying. Their comprehension is awesome. Especially since I can saw, "Pick up that cup from under the table and give it back to sissy." AND SHE DOES IT. &&& I don't have to stoop over to get it. That's nice, lol!
Yesterday, Luis and I were watching an episode of Doctor Who (finishing up S6!) and I said, it'll be so funny if they say Doctor or TARDIS. And Amelia (who will now be called Pond, if you watch the show ) said "Doctor!" clear as day. <---Parenting Win.

Yay Kate!
This weekend H was able to feel the baby for the first time. She was being very active and I told H to put his hand on my belly, thinking it was still way to early for him to be able to feel anything, and right as he did, there was a huge thump. You would think by the third pregnancy, the little things wouldn't so exciting anymore, but they are just as much as the first time.
I've been reorganizing the closet & dresser and rearranging furniture in Maisy's room, making space for new baby stuff, which I'm already starting to get. The room isn't huge, and M has a ridiculous amount of clothes, but I'm finding ways to make it all work. I've found the big girl bed i'd like for Maisy and just need to order it and the linens, since we will be using her crib for the baby. I'm usually such a procrastinator that I'm surprised to be getting so much accomplished already, but it feels nice to be ahead of the game for once!
I am just loving this age for Maisy. I'm sure every mom feels this way, but she is just the sweetest, most loving little girl! Right now she is getting 3 of her canine teeth, but even despite teething, she's just been a total joy lately.
Yay Kate!!! So excited for you, and look forward to meeting Shane's little buddy!
Many thanks to Sara, Kim, Kate & Aly for hosting my baby shower on Friday. It was so sweet of all of you, and I truly appreciate it. I also want to apologize for my pushy aunt repeatedly posing everyone for photos.
I was starting to feel overwhelmed by all the baby stuff that was piling up, but I had a friend come over yesterday and help me sort through everything, start washing clothes, blankets, etc. I'm feeling much better about the state of everything right now - and feel like I really know what I want to get accomplished in the next 6-ish weeks.
I'm getting tired a lot easier now, and need to be more conscientious about pacing myself.

No way! I was just telling my H that I loved all the women from your family. They all had great sense of humors. Especially Marsha:)
I agree with Sara, your family was awesome. And hilarious. It was a good time.
I have my 2nd appt on Thursday morning, which I'm very much looking forward to. I didn't get an u/s at my 1st, so this time they should be able to find the h/b. I've been much more nervous this time around, probably because I didn't get an early u/s. I think that has also attributed to me feeling a bit disconnected to this pregnancy as a whole. Hopefully Thursday will fix that.
Thursday night Q has Kindergarten Round-up! How in the world do I have an almost kindergartener?!? Tasha, Kate, Liz, any ideas? It is kind of early, but he's staying at the same school, so its kind of a formality anyway. And Thursday we'll be telling him about the baby, so he has a big day that day, unbeknownst to him at this time.
knock on wood, but today is the first day in over a week i haven't had a headache. i actually slept well last night and felt great all day! it was such a relief.
i feel like i am at a standstill with prep because i don't want to go out and buy a bunch of stuff before my shower, but i feel like i should be doing things to get ready!! i'm waiting on orders for finishing off the nursery though, so i guess i'm in good shape.
i started a new job a week ago, and i am SO FREAKIN HAPPY. this was absolutely the right change for me, and exactly what i needed. everyone is wonderful, and i really feel so much more at ease going to work there everyday.
annnnd, my next appt is on thurs - don't think anything exciting will be happening at this one, but we will see.
Can I still post even though I don't live with my kids right now? I'm kind of still a mom, I think?
I just wanted to say how proud I am of my little guy. DH and our nanny Malani just started potty training this week and DS wore underwear all day today with zero accidents. I know I can't take any credit since I'm not there, but I am so proud of him. I am mostly not sad to be missing potty training, but it is an important milestone so part of me is a bit sad at the same time.

Kate - WOW! 4cm already! Hopefully sooner than later for you.
cop - That's definitely something to celebrate! (And you are most definitely still MOM!)
I can't believe how close everyone is getting. Y'all are giving me baby fever! Or maybe that's just because my baby is growing up already.
Kennedy is doing amazing. I feel like she has grown up so much in the past few weeks. She's so into playing with her babies and her kitchen set. She has really mastered a lot of her stacking toys and fine motor type activities. I've seen such an increase in her receptive language skills. She is doing so well with following directions and identifying objects. I'm hoping this means she will start to make some more progress with her expressive speech. We started developmental therapy today and her therapist is really great. Kennedy loved her and was so willing to work with her.
Caleb is my giant baby. He weighs almost as much as Kennedy. He's sitting up independently and starting to army crawl. He's such a happy little/big guy. He loves playing with his toys and absolutely adores his sissy, even if she steals his toys, wacks him in the head, and ignores him sometimes. They are so cute when they do play together.
Baby fever is hitting big time. Ugh. Why can't I just fast forward through the pregnancy part?

I'm truly in denial that our babies could be old enough to be starting kindergarden soon. Also I am finding it hard to believe in under two weeks I will have a 5 year old! How is that possible already?
Zoe's speech has really taken off the past couple of weeks! I was convinced she would never speak and then Bam! Lots of words! Last night she said thank you and gentle, and her sitter said today that she kept saying thank you. I love hearing her say little words! Little does she know that in less than 3 months her world is going to be turned upside down, lol!
Pregnancywise, I am exhausted and over work already lol! My new job is sooooooooooooooooooo much better than my old one, but I go off orientation on Feb 18th so I am kinda freaking out about being on my own and that pregnant. I know my coworkers will help me, but I am still nervous.
Then there's the whole giving birth thing. I am better than I was last week, but not as content as I would like to be. It doesn't help that I have been orienting to the OR this week. Blah. I just need to fucking relax.
The great news is, I have a 4D u/s on Friday! I was looking at Zoe's u/s from 1 week before her birthday and her weight was estimated to be 8 lb 11 oz. 1 week later she was born at 8 lb 15 oz. I am hoping to get the same us/ tech lol! And I know who she is so I really hope she will be there.
Next MOnday I am going my 3 hour glucose. Bleck. John will be home since he has off for MLK Day so at least I don't have to take Zoe! That would not be fun! She is usually pretty good, but 3 hours is a long time.
I was having issues with my insurance. I went on COBRA on 1/1 but when I went to my OB last week that told me I had been denied and needed to show proof of coverage by my appointment this week. After a few calls to my former HR department it's finally been resolved and they've backdated everything. I'm glad, because while I knew I was covered I was worried I'd go into labor early and it would be a nightmare getting everything resolved.

Ugh, we are all still sick. Well H & I more so than Mia, which is how I prefer it. It's so crazy how they get over things faster than us...even though they bring it home and give it to us, LOL. Mia is still crawling all over and standing up on everything she can. She's had a couple of spills, but nothing horrible, thank goodness. We booked our flight to TX next month for my Niece's first birthday party. I can't wait to get the three girls together again. OH...she is finally putting food in her mouth. I was beginning to think she would be eating baby food mush forever. I bought some cheerios yesterday and will try them this weekend. Right not I'm just happy she's eating those baby cheetoh things and arrow root cookies, woohoo!
Had Ethan's 4 month checkup today. He is 16lbs, 9oz and 27 3/4 inches long. Big guy!! Doctor said it was ok to start with rice and/or oat cereal as he is eating upwards of 38-40 oz of formula per day. I already bought a high chair, so we can soon put it to use. He did great today....was laughing and kicking his feet. He even did good with all three shots and the oral vaccine. Love this little guy!!
