Newbie with display question

I've been lurking for ages but this is my first post. Does anyone have good ideas for displays? My husband is a racer and has a bunch of awards that he likes to display. They're pretty varied... trophies, plaques, mugs, medals, etc. Right now they're in the huge (seriously massive!) china cabinet in our kitchen but we're getting rid of it in lieu of more space. These are the only things we need to find a new home for.

The catch? We don't really have space for any more standing furniture (anything that takes up floor space). We just finished our basement and have one wall that's totally empty if we can find some way to display them on the wall. Any ideas?

I saw on Pinterest where someone cut the ribbons on a bunch of their running medals and threw them in a giant vase/apothecary jar. It was pretty cool. Still on display but saved a ton of space.

If you have an emtpy wall in your basement could you build some shelves to display it?

floating shelves on the walls? they don't take up much space and visually look pretty light.

or rotate the display so they aren't all out at one time?

I don't know how many u are talking about, but we found a floating shelf doohickey at target that was a couple of cubes stuck together, so it had a decent amount of horizontal shelf e space for displaying stuff. It was fairly day to hang.
