I just got a wave of sadness. H has gone back to med school so he isn't around as much and I realized that most of my close friends have moved out of the neighborhood. One best friend moved back home to LA for grad school, one moved to Brooklyn because they need more space for their 2 year old twins, one hasn't moved away, but he just got engaged and is super busy with that. Brooklyn isn't far away (I was there yesterday) but it can be a PITA to get to without a car. I'm kind of lonely. You guys definitely help I have a mom friend in the area with a girl 6 weeks older than J, but that's one person. And my friend who just had the twins is around but, obviously, super busy with her newborn twins.
I totally understand. I get lonely sometimes too. Are you and Jamie taking any Mommy and Me classes? I've made a few new friends that way and we try to have regular playdates.

awwww. Im sorry you are feeling lonely. My H started a new job and is gone all the time. So im by myself with Lou almost every night. But by the time i get home from work, i have an hour with him before bed so its hard to get together with people. Thats where online friends come in handy.
I hear you on this one. The majority of my friends are kidless and have no interest in kid things. Mommy and me classes here are super expensive and we cannot afford them at this moment. And with the excessive amounts of snow and cold weather, outside is not really in the cards at this moment. Last week I realized how lonely it is. Super lonely. Hopefully the Husbands work situation will be changing soon (not for the better family time wise) and we can afford to get out and do some classes.
Rjamz, why do you need to live on the opposite end of the country??!

I haven't, I know I should start, though. That's a good idea. I just hate how expensive they are here, but it might be worth it

Right? I wish we all lived in the same area! We'd have so much fun
I know how you feel. Since I'm 22, the majority of my friends are kidless and still in the "go out and drink every night" stage. And the few friends that do have kids, their babies are still young so Lincoln can't really play with them.
I feel you. I'm trapped in my house because I have no car and I've gotten stuck in the rain one too many times. I don't even bother signing up for the free library stuff anymore for this reason. I really hope I get a car soon.

Yeah, easy solution. The bagels here are better than in Manhattan. So is our pizza. You'll be closer to your girlfriend, Trudy, myself annnnnnndddd if you don't mind Jamie getting with a shiska, he and DD can fall in love!
All of our friends with kids live far, and well, I don't have a ton of friends, so I'll commiserate with you.
I am lucky to have some free mom and baby programming though, however most if the stuff now falls during nap times. I mean, who plans stuff for infants that starts at 1:30?

Don't think I haven't considered it! H is very anti-Brooklyn, for some reason.
And I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the bagel thing - Absolute Bagels by me is excellent
