I found this dresser on Craigslist and I love it, but we're not really looking for a dresser. We are, however, looking for something to hold our china. Because of the layout of our house, whatever we choose will be located in our living room instead of a dining room.
Would this work? Would it be weird to have a dresser in the living room?

Looks good to me! Make sure the action on the drawers is nice though. If you are going to store your china in it, you need to be sure it has good drawer action so you don't damage your dishes!
It's gorgeous and $325 is a great price. BUT I guarantee you the drawers cannot support china. Sorry. I know that type of dresser and it's lovely, but the drawer bottoms can't support more than sweaters/blankets/tablecloths.

Thanks tarheels (and everyone else). I hadn't thought about the weight of the items until I posted here. Maybe I can find another place in my house for it...
That is absolutely gorgeous!! But I do agree with TH that it's probably better suited for linens and things of that nature. Buy it if you can afford it and use it somewhere else in your house!
It is lovely BUT you are on a spending freeze for a reason, is this something that is that important to find a location in your house for to break your spending freeze? Are there going to be other things that you break your freeze for that you don't need?
