She sits on her own, but I'm afraid she'll fall over if it's slippery. I just figure the ring is a good way to keep her secure. Believe it or not, I'm still bathing her in the infant reclining thing! I wonder if I don't fill the tub up as much it would be easier for her to sit up. How high are you supposed to fill it?

We have this one. It's super sticky. Edie walks all around the tub and only occasionally falls. And that's usually because she stepped on one of the billions of toys.

Violet sits on her own but in the little infant tub still because I'm too lazy to fill the whole regular tub. The key is to not use too much water. My H filled it way too high and she slipped and went under and it was scary.
I don't know what brand our bath ring is, but I really like it. He likes a lot of water so I feel safer having the ring. I also don't think it's so hard to clean them in it, but maybe I'm just not very thorough?

Like about how much? Up to her belly button or lower?

I usually just put enough water to get above Andrew's legs when he's sitting. It's not that I'm worried about him. I just don't want to waste a ton of water unnecessarily. Every once in a while, I'll fill it up higher just to let him play.
I do have to bathe him every. single. day. because of the helmet. I think if I could get away with every other day or every couple of days, I'd do it higher.

yeah, i agree with muppet. just above the legs. maybe 2 inches.
i also only do higher because one inch is usually ice cold water. so to avoid the charade of finding the perfect temp, i just use the cold, then add hot.

I don't have trouble with it sticking. Ansley can sit well and I wouldn't have a problem having her in there without it except that she has the tubes in her ears. The wax plugs are such a pain so we just use cotton balls in the tub. She LOVES the tub and thinks its a pool though, so I know she would dunk under and ER her ears wet. That's the main reason we got the ring. I like it though.

We still do the infant tub too!! Mainly because I didn't know the guidelines for just having her in the regular tub, so thanks for this thread.
So if you bathe your kids in the regular tub, doesn't the water get cold fast? Because it's only a few inches? We have the water high when she's in her infant tub, like up to her belly button/stomach area. Is this a no-no?
We used the infant tub until she decided it was easy to use to stand up. Then we switched. I fill the bathip high in her ring. Like mid belly. She loves it so much I don't want the water to go cold on her
I LOVE it. We start off the bath with him sitting on it. Then I put him on his back to wash his booty. Best $8 I have ever spent. Keeps him from flopping over and sliding all around the tub. Wring it out and hang it on a towel bar and it's ready for the next night.
