So, my check-up went as well as can be expected. They are sending the tissue for testing, and he wants to run some extra blood work over the next month and next cycle to check things out.
However, he floated the idea that my m/c may have been related to an illness I had 2 weeks ago where I ran a fever. That's when the baby stopped developing. I started treating the fever within 12 hours after it started, but it took another 2-3 days to stabilize.
Oddly, this makes me feel better somehow. I'd rather it be illness related than an ongoing fertility issue for me. We won't really know until I have another pregnancy or my testing comes up with something.
FTR- I did have my flu shot. I always have it because I was hospitalized with it a couple of years ago, so I know how important it is. Not that I think any of the regs here would judge me.

I don't want to rain on your parade but I think your doc is pretty off. There's pretty much no evidence that the flu (unless you have severely high/comatose levels of fevers or severe dehydration) will cause an early m/c. They're almost all chromosomal issues or low progesterone when they're that early.
It might be worth considering to have the recurrent pregnancy loss panel of bloodwork/potentially an SHG run since you had two back to back that were almost the same gestational age at time of loss. Typically RPL is run after three losses in a row, but two so close in time together could also be a sign of a problem. Something as simple as taking progesterone could potentially stop it from happening again.
