I have an awful cold and I am not sure if I should take Sudafed. My OB told me that it was ok when I was around 26 weeks. I had an appointment with her partner and happened to mention that I had taken sudafed the night before. He freaked out and told me that it could cause hypertension and decreased blood flow to the placenta and that I shouldn't take it. I have never had blood pressure issues but now I am not sure what to do. Did your OB let you take sudafed?

Yes, the plain kind was fine. It did nothing. I also tried Neti-pot for the first time while pregnant, and it might have helped a little, but I also might have just been getting over it.
And I could taste the salt in the back of my throat for weeks. Ugh! I hope you feel better!

The pot does nothing for me but the bottle version I use daily. Was recommend by my ENT.
I was allowed to take it, but noticed that if I had taken it in a 24 hour period prior to getting my blood pressure taken, my blood pressure was always higher.
I asked the pharmacist at Target when I was home and they said it was safe, but I could only take 1 pill every 6 hours. I take it occassionally.
My OB here in Spain didn't give me any literature on anything...I guess people here don't take meds or do anything that could affect the baby . That god for the internet because that is where I get a lot of my information. I have even gone as far as calling my gyno in the States to get advice.
Dristan/afrin is better. It works better. It acts more locally, so it's less risky. Just don't use it for more than 3-4 days or you can get rebound congestion.
Pill decongestants never do anything for me. Oh, and the neilmed bottle is >> neti pot.
