I agree with most of these, but what is with the tile hate? All tile? Tile floors? What do you want in the shower?
I didn't bring that one up, but I do get tired of tile. Tile doesn't need to be everywhere and all the way up the wall. It's cold and can be hard to clean so I'm just not real excited about it.

Bunny - I hate tile b/c I hate the extensive amounts of cleaning it requires. Also, most DIY tile looks poorly done, at best. Also, I find that 98% of the time, it's a dated look within 5 years.
I would prefer ANY solid surface in a shower. I know it's low-rent, but I'd prefer a 1-piece drop-in over tile. Any day.

I don't get the tile hate either. Grout is not that hard to clean if you do it regularly. Yes, if you let it get all grimy, it's a PITA to clean. If you run over it with a brush while you're in the shower every week or so ... not a hassle to keep clean at all.
That being said, I do not like tile on kitchen floors, I much prefer hardwood in kitchens.
As for other trends I'm not into ... in addition to many of the others already mentioned ...
- Repurposing closets for other things, like a reading nook or a mini office or a craft space. I like my closets as closets.
- DIY painting of cabinets. It sounds like a nice, cheap way to update a kitchen or bath but almost always looks crappy.
- Emerald green. I know it's the pantone color of the year, but I can't see this as a color I would ever choose to decorate with.
- Poufs. I don't see the point. They don't look comfortable to sit on, and they take up floor space that could be used for other things ... like actual chairs.
- HD laminate counters. I'm sorry, laminate still looks cheap even though it does look better than it used to. I certainly don't think that granite is the be all end all, but there are other options.
I am a bit surprised that the comments on DIY painted cabinets looking crappy haven't spawned a slew of, "do MY painted cabinets look crappy???" spinoff posts, lol.
I'm guessing no one wants to hear this. I would be afraid to ask, honestly.
I dislike Ikat. Love chevron anything but in moderation. I like the look of white cabinets but will never attempt to DIY our cabinets. I would rather take them off and stain them but that's still a lot of work! Any words on walls. Art or not. I specially hate the ones that tell people to eat or drink in the kitchen. I love gray with yellow! I don't get accent walls. And tiles on kitchen counters. No thank you. I am not into white subway tiles either (ducks quickly!)
Hating white grout, I get. Hating tile: insane. As long as the grout isn't white, I think it's super easy to clean (grout staining hidden by a darker color doesn't bother me in the least).

Ehhh, I've been called worse. For the record, the house we're hopefully buying has tile floors, backsplash, and counters in the kitchen and tile surrounding the upstairs tub. So although I hate it with a passion, I'm going to be living with it soon. It's like it is seeking its revenge.

I just hate plastic as a building material, so I can't stand the drop-in tub/shower units. But I love tile in a bathroom.
For a kitchen counter? or floor? or backsplash even? Not so much.
We always try to stay at renovated Springhill suites on long car trips. They have interesting "split" bathrooms (shower room & toilet/sink room). The shower walls are usually one big piece of solid surface which I love. Nice clean look. No tub.
