My SIL (B's sis) just found out she is a type 1 diabetic. She is really upset about it because she has always been a gourmet cook/foodie type. I was thinking about sending a gourmet diabetic cookbook. Is this silly? Does anyone know if there is such a thing?
honestly, I think it depends how big of a foodie she is. DH is not a big fan of "gluten free" cookbooks, because they're usually too simplistic, he would prefer to just pick recipes that are already gluten free or do his own adaptations. most regular more foodie cookbooks would actually already be diabetic friendly.

i agree with this--however i think the thought of getting the diabetic cookbooks is really sweet. maybe if there's such thing, you can get her a substitutions book?
