I can't log in!

It tells me my email address is registered and activated, and my user name (not this one) is linked to the forum, but I can't make the jump from the login screen to the forum.  I can only access it as a guest.  I ended up having to create a new user name.  I sincerely can't figure out what I'm doing wrong!

After you log in with your email, when you get to the screen that says post as a guest, at the bottom there's a link to 'link another forum account.' Click that & enter your username & password for your other account.

I've done that, and it says it's already linked. And then there is no way to move from that screen back to our forum. But when I try to login in directly with my login name, it asks me to activate. When I enter the activation key, it says it's already activated. It's a terrible circle that I can't figure out how to get out of. This one? Created it, no problems logging in directly.

When you first log in & get to that page, what do you see? Just 'Guest'? And from there you click 'Link another forum account' and get the error that it's already linked when you enter your username & password?

Sorry, I know those sound like dumb questions. I'm just trying to figure out exactly what's happening when you log in.

No, I appreciate the follow up. All I see is guest. So I clicked "link another forum account", and get the error that it's already linked. It then shows at the top that I'm logged in under my screen name, but there's no option to get back to pandce.proboards.com. If I then type in our forum address (in the hope that it has somehow held on to my login), it just reverts back to me not being logged in.

Now, though, when I log in with my email address, it just pops up as this login name as an option - which is NBD, if I have to give up the old name, I'm not going to die.

At first, my screen name was taking me to the beta test version. So I unlinked it from that. Now it seems to be in screen name limbo. If I try to go through the process again, it says the screen name is taken, so it's still out there somewhere!

Try this:



Go to www.proboards.com

Login with your global login (if you aren't already)

Go to the Account Settings tab

Click Forum Accounts & make sure that your other username has the display box checked.



If it does, go back to Account Settings, click Unlink Forum Account, and select pandce.proboards.com & your username, then enter a new password for it in the boxes. Then come back here & try to link it again.

Ok, here's what I got - I go to see if it's displayed, and if you look in top corner, it shows me logged in as my old screen name (yes!).  But when I go to see which names are available for this forum, it only shows this one as an option.  rosetyler isn't even listed.  No clue what I'm doing, apparently.

What happens if you log out of your email and just try entering rosetyler and your password to login?

It asks me for my activation key, and then tells me it's an invalid email address. I think I've given up, I'm halfpint now.
