I've heard of Sparkpeople before but never really had much interest until last week when I stepped on my friends scale (which we later discovered was WRONG by the way, THANK God). Since I'm nursing, the website redirected me to Babyfit.sparkpeople where there are different nutritional requirements and it's all baby related, but basically it's like WW but free. You plug in what you eat and it breaks it down to show how many calories, also calcium, iron, etc you are getting. I really wish I would have used this tool when I was pregnant instead of eating whatever I wanted. But better late than never. Once I'm done with BF I will switch over to Sparkpeople.
:hangs head in shame: I counted calories while pregnant. But not like, "Oh, I need to lose weight." My midwife said I could eat an extra 450 calories a day, so I would count to 1850. I def. was not starving myself.
I ate over a dozen snicker doodles at one sitting more than a few times. I'm still not really dieting, you can hardly call it dieting when you are consuming between 2000 and 2300 calories a day (today I went over, but it was healthy food and I got enough of the good stuff ie iron and calcium). I'm guess I shouldn't say I'm dieting, but I'm watching my diet. I would like to lose 2 pounds a month though.

I need to make a mental note of that site. I will admit, I was way more hungry breast feeding than I was pregnant! Once I stopped pumping I gained a few pounds back, and realized that I clearly couldn't eat the same way anymore! Of course...then I got pregnant again. But I hear it's harder to lose weight after your second, and with 9 weeks to go, I've already gained only 3 pounds less than I did with Kennedy at the time I gave birth.

It has definitely been harder for me to lose weight the 2nd time around. With DD1, I was back to pp weight at 7 months. This time, DD2 is over a year old and I'm still 5 lbs over and I gained less with my 2nd pregnancy. It has been difficult to find time to exercise with 2 kids. But I've been running for 2 weeks now and exercising 5x/week and have lost 4 lbs. my only diet plan is cutting back on sugar.
Wow you were back to your pp weight at 7 months, that's awesome! I am just over 5 months and am still up 25. I've been eating entirely too much crap. I would go long stretches without eating anything, then do pizza for dinner and entire slices of chocolate tower truffle cake at 1200 calories a pop for breakfast or before bed. I deserve to be uncomfortable in my clothes that's for sure. I'm still eating a lot now that I've regulated, I just took away most of the deserts and am eating 3 healthy meals again. For snacks lots of apples with peanut butter, and since I'm a convenience girl, mini Luna bars if I need to satisfy my sweet tooth and chocolate cravings.
