I just started spraying dipes today and I suck at it. I'm still dealing with pretty runny BF poo with a few chunks, so maybe that's the problem. Please tell me how you do it.
My problems: I can't figure out how to hang the diaper sufficiently in the toilet without it being in the water. How do I avoid overspray? How do I get a soaked diaper into the wetbag without getting shit everywhere?
Another question- we have a deep sink in the basement right next to the washer. There's probably some sanitation reason why I can't just spray diapers in there, right? That would be 1000000x easier.
Pocket - Always spray with the opening down. I never hang the diaper over anything, I just hold it. ALWAYS keep the sprayer pointing down. Never point directly at the diaper. You can adjust the pressure of the spray where it connects to the water line.
I always start spraying the side of the toilet first and then make contact with the diaper. Spray downward only. I keep a wet bag in the bathroom and open it while I'm spraying so that I can put the diaper directly in the bag when I'm done.
As for the not getting it in the toilet, I never care if it gets in the water. It's bound to happen sometimes.
I don't worry if the diaper hangs out a little in the toilet bowl, I just give everything a final rinse at the end. I keep a small hanging wet bag on the tp rack and the diaper goes straight in there after it's been de-pooped. The most important thing to remember is to keep the water rate high enough to be effective and low enough to keep from overspraying.
Oh, and make sure it's pointed down when you turn it on. Learned that the hard way

I don't see why you can't spray into the utility sink. Just make sure the pipes are big enough that you won't get clogs. It all flows into the same sewer line. Just clean the wash tub when you are done.

Not necessarily. Some places have sinks that drain into a "gray water" system. In that case you do NOT want to spray poopy diapers into the sink, as that water isn't treated the same way that septic water is.
