Newsflash! Did you know dogs take a lot of work??!

BIL just called MH & told him that they have to get rid of their 4y/o beagle mix b/c she killed his 8y/o daughters guinea pig....the whole family was outside, left the dog inside, running free, & the daughters bedroom door open where the cage is. WTF did you THINK was going to happen?!

There is a lot of backstory I can't include here, b/c I don't have the space to type a 4 page novel, & b/c Im too pissed off!! My fingers won't type fast enough!! But BIL & his wife are just a piece of work all around! So they get this hyper-ass out of control dog years ago, never take the time to train her, let alone walk her, EVER!! & then are surprised when she doesn't listen & misbehaves! (oh & yes, MH has stressed the importance of exercise multiple times & also encouraged them to attend classes...etc) GR!!!! She's a good dog, deep down inside she really is. She just needs work, which of course, they obviously, didn't sign up for when they got a dog, I mean who does right? GRRR!!! & now they have a son who is 17 months old, & understandably, they have less time then before, but WHO does?!! Regardless if you have kids or not!!

Oh! AND! BIL has been laid off for like the last, 4 months!! Perfect time to turn things around don't you think?? Ya know, now that you've got all this extra time on your hands & all.

Oh, & it gets better!!! He already listed the dog on Craigslist. Yeah. & asked for a $50 rehoming fee!!

Angry. SO angry!! MH even called his parents & they're super pissed too!! & I just *know* BIL called both of us b/c he was expecting one of us to just jump up & say that we'll take her. GR!! Fuck him!!!

Sorry! I don't mean to rant! I know there are plenty of people who have had to give up their dogs for various reasons, I just needed to get that off my chest! It probably won't make much sense since no one knows them IRL, which is just really what makes this so completely ridiculous!

*update*
just checked FB & he now has the dog listed on his page to get rid of (w/the rehoming fee of course). & also on a "things for sale" in our town FB page.

&, his wife just posted a paragraph long story about comforting her daughter after losing & burying her best friend tonight.

Gee. You don't think people are going to put 2 & 2 together when you both post that shit within 20min of eachother?!!!
