I am at a loss and can't decide what color to paint our kitchen. I have old school blue counters and brown cabinets and a brand new SS fridge! We just finished taking all wall paper and borders off. It's been primed and ready to go except I can't decide what to choose. There are sooooo many choices! What I do know is that rich bright colors are out. Any suggestions?
I think a light gray would look nice; and you could prob find a bluish gray to go with the countertops. I love gray and would paint my entire house some shade of gray lol.
Have you considered refinishing the countertops with the Rustoleum kit or something? I know those don't look amazing but it might give you a better base to work from.
Yup! The stupid previous owners turned the damn power to the sump pump off when they left so at one point there was 5' of water in the basement. And thanks to that the whole basement was dead and had to be gutted. Apparently it went unnoticed long enough that the kitchen counter got warped due to the moisture. There were mold growing the on surface of the cabinets which DH just scrubbed off 2 wks ago.
Anywho, since the counter top is warped, we will have to replace it in near future. It's not very noticeable and only warped on the left side by the oven unit. I was considering Rustoleum counter top paint for the cheap fix in the mean time. rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=208

LOL! We just painted the guest room functional gray. It's dark and moody and I love it! I was wondering if it would be weird to go with gray in kitchen also? I would choose a much lighter gray however. That should look okay with blue in the mean time and future counter top which will most likey be dark gray or black.

I have a gray "formal" living room (painted Antique Tin by Behr so it's quite dark) and a lighter gray bedroom. Like I said, I love gray so I'd go for it!
In that situation, I would pick a color to go with the cabinets. Apple Green maybe.
I was thinking that the right green would be nice with both the blue counter and the wood cabinets, but the right blue or blue/gray would be nice too.
Honestly, I don't think the colors of the cabinets and counterare that difficult to work with. They wouldn't be my first choice, but both are prevalent in nature, so I would probably stick with natural hues if I wanted to stay away from bold.
We just painted our kitchen and living room Revere Pewter from BM. It's a warm gray that changes with the light. I think it would look great in that kitchen and adjusts to future changes.
