We are building a house and the space for the kitchen does not have any windows. We could flip where the breakfast nook is with the kitchen and that space has windows but then the breakfast nook would not have windows. So would it be best to have windows in the kitchen or in the breakfast nook?
I'm new to these boards so I hope I'm posting in an ok spot!
If you're building, have the builder add a window. Can you link to the floorplan?
I just have a hard copy right now. There isn't another place to add any other windows. One side is open to the living room and the other sides have walls with rooms behind them. I've looked through all our builders plan books and NONE of them have a kitchen with windows. It must be a regional thing because most houses have the kitchen smack dab in the middle of the house.

In that case, I'm with all the others that you should leave it the way it is. Kitchens in the middle of the house with no windows are common. It's not like it's completely sealed off - conceivably it gets light from the LR windows.
Our L-shaped kitchen is in the middle of the house. One side of the kitchen faces the nook with 3 windows, and the other side of the kitchen faces the living room, with 3 more windows. It's a pretty standard layout.
ETA: Our sink is in the island so we can look out the windows when washing dishes. I would not like a kitchen with a sink facing the wall.
