Well, not really scammed....but I almost had a total MM fail. In a moment of weakness at the mall today, I sat down at one of those hair straightening places, and let them straighten my hair.....and of course, the whole time they put the hard sell on me to buy this *amazing* straightener. (Which actually did a nice job on my hair....)
In an extremely uncharacteristic move, I caved and bought the stupid thing for $120! No refunds, but a 5 year warranty, was their big push. As I was walking away, I whipped out my phone and saw that I could buy the same straightener on amazon for $30!
So, I marched back to the kiosk, and stayed calm, but asked for my money back. After going back and forth with these guys for about 15 minutes, they finally relented.
I am so annoyed with myself for giving in and buying it in the first place, but pretty proud that I actually got my money back. I was actually pretty worried about how it would work out. Now, I need to watch my credit card statement like a hawk for the next little while to make sure the credit actually goes through.
So, tell me, am I missing out on the amazing Royale hair straightener?
Those guys drive me crazy Yes, I really want to stop here with a two year old and 6 month old and take out my pony tail so you can straighten my hair. Glad you got your money back!
Those guys in the mall kiosks are the worst. I told the guy at one not thank you but he would not leave me alone. Apparently he was selling stuff to clean your shoes with. He told me my shoes were really dirty and should be cleaned. They were brand new shoes! Way to insult someone in order to try to get their business.

Right. When I'm with my 6 year old, I don't want a free massage from some creepy guy standing in the aisle.
I will pull out the crappy headphones that came w/my iPhone, put them in & pretend I'm listening to music so the mall kiosk people don't try to stop me. My husband called once when I was doing that & was surprised I answered the phone so quickly, lol.
My mom bought the dead sea stuff at one point. She spent $$$ on it and doesn't even use the stupid lotion etc.
Whenever we are in the mall and we walk past those places I always dodge to the side and put my head down to try to ignore them. Once there was a guy who was like hey how you doing? and I was ignoring him and was like no thank you and kept walking and he wasn't I didn't ask you for something, I asked how you were doing!? ugh.
