Look what I found at Goodwill!

A Drexel Heritage swivel rocker for $45   It's like a $1,200 chair!  It is super comfortable and bigger than it looks.  Since it is a rocker, it'll go in a nursery some day.



I think it's really cool that they have all their workers sign the label:



It obviously needs to be redone, but with ILs' cheap country preacher/reupholsterer, labor should only be about $100. 

I'm going to ease the traditional lines by having the upholsterer remove most of the welting, so that it looks something like this:



I'm pretty sure I'm going to do slipcovers in the same white cotton twill I have other chairs slipcovered in, but I'm not sure what I should upholster the body in.  My slipcover twill is from Calico Corners, so I'm going there tomorrow to pick some up and I'll see what else I can find - maybe something fun like a white and taupe leopard print or an outdoor fabric.

I'm jealous! I need something like that for my living room- I love my Goodwill for small home items, but it seems like only Blanche Devereaux donates furniture there.
