Not that bad! My family never really made turnips so I've never had them until this weekend. I made Pioneer Woman's Sunday Night Stew which has turnips in it.
I ate them. I liked them. I will eat them again! Better yet, Mr Picky ate them, didn't "love" them, but would "suffer through them again if I have to" I think they were slightly under cooked for his tastes. And to put this in perspective he would only eat carrots when we started dating (9 years ago). He will now eat green beans, some mushrooms, onions, garlic, broccoli, and now turnips!

We've had this discovery about a number of things. R has discovered he likes beets. Both of us have learned to love radishes (only roasted though. They're still blechy when raw.)
OMG, I wish someone could teach me to like beets. I hate everything about them and was secretly glad when the bunch from our last CSA box went bad before I tried to cook them. At least they contributed to my compost?

juno - I peel and quarter them, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt. Roast at 425 for at *least* 20 minutes. The trick is peeling them. They taste less like dirt that way. LOL
