Been in business for 22 yrs in my new town, and showed me pics of his kids and grandkids.

Quoted me $175-200 for tax return that includes 5 w-2s across 3 states, student loan, mortgage and rental property stuff, and daycare nonsense. I'm so excited. I was worried it was going to be a lot higher; shoot we could barely buy Turbo tax (with 3 states) for that.

Tax people and movers are two people I'm always happy to give money to because they make 2 very unpleasant tasks much easier.

That's good! I was a tax preparer for 8 years, and now that I'm out of it I'm glad our return is so simple to prepare. If a friend or someone asks me to help and theirs is multi-state, I kindly tell them no thanks and they should go somewhere where the preparers are up to date and have good software. That sounds like a good quoted price.

OMG. I wish I could find someone here to do that! We have 10 W-2s and nanny forms. I can't find anyone for less than $700.

I get a family, deal. One of my best buds is a CPA. We will have 5 W2, rental property and some other stuff. She will charge me $35.
