Long story short, DS's kindergarten teacher has been extremely instrumental in the past few months in convincing the principal to allow our son to access certain services at the school. She was the one who brought the need to our attention, and when we were first denied she actively advocated and stood by us despite pressure on her by the administration. Anyway, we prevailed, and the principal not only acknowledged we were right but apologized for the stress of the past few months.
So, I'd like to obviously show our appreciation. I really do think she went above and beyond. What would be appropriate here? A card, obviously, but flowers? A donation in her name to the local education fund (which I know she supports)? I don't want it to look like I'm "paying" for her support, if that makes sense. Any ideas?
I think that a card and a donation would be appreciated.
MIL is a kindergarten teacher. She loves cards and gift cards. She has more mugs and framed pictures of former students than she knows what to do with, so as long as you avoid those, you should be fine.
A heartfelt note in a card is perfect. Really. If you want to do more, then a donation (if you know what she supports) or a gift card to Target or Starbucks.

People really do this? oh my god. I'm literally LOL'ing at this. The last thing DS's teacher wants to see after school is out for the summer is his face in a frame. And I say that as his loving mom.
