WTF you go on vacay and hope you conceive? What if you don't? That's too much pressure.
I agree. This seems like a waste because I would be so worried about conceiving the whole time I wouldn't relax and enjoy the vacation. That being said, when I got pg in Dec/Jan, we conceived in a hotel over Christmas (NOT a vacation) and the sex was definitely more relaxed/different. I love hotel sex.

Ok, so when I read the title, I was thinking of like - full moon, half moon, crescent moon, blue moon, conception moon and was very confused. I thought you meant there was a stage of the moon that was considered particularly conducive to conceiving...
Now that I know what it actually is, I think it could be an interesting idea if you can predict your FW well and feel like taking a vacation around that time anyway. Maybe put some spice back into things? It might increase your chances of conception just because you're out of your regular schedule so you might have more time for sex.

I have heard of people going on vacation in hopes of conceiving from being relaxed. I had two friends go on cruises to conceive and both of them did end up getting pregnant. Maybe a weird coincidence? We are going to the Dominican Republic in ten days but not on a cruise lol. I am just hoping to relax and enjoy not worrying about work or school.
DH and I are going to start TTC in January. We also booked a beach vacation for the first week of January. This isn't a "conception-moon" just more like a hey-we-want-to-go-on-vacation-and-go-scuba-diving trip before our first child. Are we hoping we get pregnant on this trip or shortly after? Heck yes, but in no way are we considering it a "conception-moon".
We are crazy planners like this. Now I just need to not set my expectations too high because I realize only 25-ish% of couples get preggers their first month of trying...

I also know someone who went on a cruise that happened to be during her FW and they conceived their first.

Yeah, that will work for about 20% of the couples that take trips during their FW.
If stress was really that much of an issue, explain pregnancy in places where there is war and famine.
Sounds like too much pressure to me. And unless you plan it on fairly short notice, the chances of you being in vaca during your fertile time are not great...
DH and I are planning a trip to Italy this fall to celebrate losing weight, managing PCOS, and getting the okay from our dr to TTC again. Sure, I would love to conceive on the trip, but it's unlikely so I'm not expecting anything. But, seriously, how cool would it be to conceive in Italy?

Is a conception moon actually meant to be different than a baby moon? We are planning a baby moon in South America this fall. Obviously I don't know if we will conceive on the trip (not even sure yet what the doc will say about trying on the trip), but that's really not the point: it's more of a "one last hurrah" kind of a thing anyway. And we feel like it's an occasion that should be marked, whether we actually get pregnant right away or not.
We kind of did this. We just took a big vacation that we had wanted to do for years the month we started trying. If we got pg, great. If not, we had an awesome vacation we had wanted to take for a long time.

Yeah, you know, to some pp about it being too much pressure, I sort of was thinking more along the lines of mimosas comment. That's how I was treating the concept as I understood it; thats why I had wanted some clarity/explanation.
It's interesting to hear everyone's thoughts! I guess it's like everything else; different for everybody!

I conceived DD #1 either during a trip to Vegas, or right after. BUT...we didn't go on the trip for that reason. It was total coincidence that I O'd around that time, and believe me I wasn't thinking about conceiving/putting pressure on us to perform. If anything, the opposite...we'd been TTC for a year at that point and had agreed that we *weren't* going to think about it on vacation!
