Should I take dog to hospital

Last night he was eating ice out of my cup...one of those short disposable hard plastic cups...and suddenly he takes a bite of the cup. I pull it away but could not find the piece he bit off. It was small, about 1 cm...but would have 3 pts to it.

I gave him several of these soft fig newton like dog treats and a piece of bread with peanut butter on it.

This was all before we went to bed...we're not sure if he's acting normal or not. He didn't seem as eager to jump in bed with us, didn't eat a hard cookie my husband gave him this morning (but did eat the soft one I gave him), might have seemed a bit rounded/hunched up in his positioning as I left for work.

I think your dog will be fine. Sounds like was too excited to take a treat at that point.

How big is your dog? 1cm is pretty small. I'm sure it'll pass on its own.

he's about 40 lbs...

I would think hes ok unless he starts to seem like he is in pain. I would call the vet anyway to ask what they advise...
