Sealing Ikea Table Top

While at Ikea this weekend, I found a table top that will actually work for my desk.  Unfortunately in the thrill of deciding to just buy a table top for my desk and have DH make the base, I didn't pick up sealer for the table top.

Is there something I can pick up at HD/Lowes or even order online to seal it?  It will be an office desk, so it will just have to stand up to some scrapbooking and crafting projects.

ETA: I was visiting family and went to Ikea, the closest one to me is 2.5 hours away.

I'd say any kind of polyurethane sealer they sell at Home Depot or Lowe's should do the trick.

It recommends their wood treatment oil. The ingredients are: Linseed oil, Wood treatment oil, Lead free drying agent, Emulsifier.

You can get Linseed oil at Homedepot.

It depends on what type of finish you want it to have. The linseed oil will be a more "raw" type finish where poly is more shiny (depending on the level of gloss you choose). An oil based finish will have more upkeep required. We have that ikea countertop in our entertainment center and I stained and poly-ed it with really nice results.
