Yes! DH bought his dining set before we got married and the chairs are sooo NMS.. I want a new set but DH won't part with his pricey Canadel set. Grr. Also we have never had a sectional so I of course want one. But we have two sets of couches that aren't going anywhere. Sigh! But I will be moving to our new house next week so my honeymoon phase should last a while.

Oh,yea. Big time. I have even been searching realtor.com. We said we'd be here 3-5 years and it's almost 5. I did make some recent changes like re-organizing cabinets, cleaning basement (pics in challenge post), bought a new kitchen table for $10 at Goodwill (!) and converted our dining room back into a DR (our house is small and the DR and LR were one "big" room so we got rid of the DR since we have an EIK and made it all LR). I put the old kitchen table back in the DR. Anyway, those small changes have helped some.
Is there any furniture re-arranging, picture hanging, duvet cover swap-out you could do? I also tend to fell this way when it's cold out and I am stuck inside all day.

I can understand that. I get that way pretty much every winter and especially here in the rental. What helps me is to make a moderate change. For example, is there something medium-sized you can do to change things up? Rearrange your cabinets, paint a room, swap out a vanity ... ?
I do this too! I usually start decluttering, rearranging furniture, find some cheap fun artwork, paint something etc. Also a really good deep clean seems to help.

We just bought and I'm already lobbying to redecorate the kitchen. And I'm not sure about the fabric on our family room pillows/chair. I don't know why I bought a slipper chair, I don't really like them.
So it's not just you. Try to do something that's not too costly to shake things up.
I usually get house envy when I watch House Hunters type shows in LCOL areas. Best to avoid those too.
When I get bored with our house, I start decluttering and moving things around. I think half my problem is I feel like our house is too small (compared to others) so I find making more room by getting rid of stuff helps.
I have the opposite problem. I loved our house in Minnesota that we had to sell to relocate for H's new job. Loved every bit of it.
Now, we're in a new state, renting a place I hate, while trying to find a new house. I look at real estate listings all.the.time and there's just nothing I like in our price range. I know I'm being overly picky, but we loved our last house so much and don't want to settle for something less, and don't feel like we should have to since supposedly the COL is lower in our new city. Yet I'm finding nothing in our price range that appeals to me at all.
Nope. Not weird at all. I feel the same way. Mostly because when I moved in I wasn't sure what my decorating style really was. Before that I only lived in apartments and didn't really care all that much what they looked like. I was young and the only purpose my home served was a place for me to sleep off my drunken night. When I moved into the house I was kind of all over the place, now that I have found my style I pretty much have to re-do all the rooms over and I just want a new house and a clean slate.
Every year I do something - new fireplace front, new curtains, new bedspread, rearrange furniture, get rid of stuff I don't like, paint. It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do. Why not go onto one of those paint store sites and put it a pic of one or two of your rooms and try different paint colors. I painted one of my bathrooms a spiced cider brown and love it - changed the whole look of the room. I didn't paint my other bathroom - it's antique white and I like it - but I switched the accent colors from brown and yellow to sage and dark green. Got some new rugs and towels, new glass and soap dish - love it and looks like a new bathroom. Painted another room deep pumpkin - looks awesome. I'm getting ready to paint my rec room - maybe just one accent wall.
I just ended my engagement and my fiance is moving out - so I am also feeling the house updates bug. I want a fresh start that symbolizes moving forward in a new direction, so I made a list of a bunch of different things I'd like to buy for or do to the house - wrote down cost in another column and sorted them by level of importance. For example, I got rid of my very old TV when he moved in - he brought his flat screen with him - so new TV top of list. Painting rec room - it's desperate - also at top of list. New towels - desperate for these and such a nice feeling to have them - plus not too expensive, put at top of list.
Want to repaint the kitchen. It's green. I think it needs to be repainted green. (LOL - from sage to Ikea green - you know what shade I mean? Like this. I have the actual napkin to paint match to:
That's almost SW Parakeet. It's a great color and another green we almost considered. You should do it.

I do usually about once a year. I just changed our throw pillows and that helped. Sometimes I do a lot of changes and sometimes just small changes. Our rental doesn't allow for much rearranging of furniture unfortunately .
