Not much up here. Working but I've only had one thing to do in the last 4-5 days. Gotta take the Dingus to the boarding place this afternoon for a "temperament evaluation."
Just discovered that thanks to the wonders of the internet and a cross-country move, I can check out a ridiculous number of library e-books at once. And my library back in Ohio offers better ebooks than the one here.
Well it's pouring down rain here, which is great because we haven't had any for 2 weeks and it's been in the high 90s. BUT I have a swim meet tonight, which is going to be really cold; I hope my kids don't freeze and pack warm clothes to put on after their races.
Also, I'm having fun figuring out my new Fitbit and all that I can do with the online site there. It's really interesting to monitor your daily activity.
I've never done the library ebook thing, there's always a wait it seems. Reading anything good? I keep trying to read game of thrones, I'm on book 5 and I get completely burned out. I've been watching Supernatural on Netflix and perusing blogs for color/design ideas for my house. I see places that look super nice, then I'm like, man all that decor would be a bitch to clean!! So now I'm searching funtional decor without much luck haha.

The library ebooks here in CA kinda suck. They allow you 3 books at a time, the selection is seriously minimal (honestly, they have a total of 2 copies of each Harry Potter book, for example. The wait list is something like 80+ people). They also allow a maximum 14-day checkout.
The library back in OH allows 10 books at a time, has 70+ copies of most popular books - so even a 10+ person wait list will get you your book in about 3-5 days, and they allow 21-day checkouts.
The difference is ridiculous. But I'm happy for free ebooks - since we're going back to OH for 2 weeks in a few weeks, I can load up my nook and have lots to read without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money.

I want a kindle. I hinted at H for one for my birthday. I will have to print out something and shove it in his backpack with "hey, butthole, my birthday is August 7th" and see if that works better lol.
I'm alone at work today and I have done almost everything I needed to do (minus sending out some letters -- mailman was early today so they'll go tomorrow anyways -- and make 2 calls for birthdays and a few for making appointments) so I'm wasting time. Also trying to avoid finishing up the filing that's been waiting on me for 2 months. At least.
My random: I found out my stepdad got hit by a school bus while ridig his bicycle to work. He'll be ok, just some scrapes and bruises. The bus driver was at fault saying he didn't see him. Scary.
I so wish I could be doing some D&R right now, but with our home for sale, I can only dream of what we'll do in the next one. I'm kind of competitive, so when I see people post pics of their newly decorated room or finished pinterest project on FB, I get a little jealous.

I thought about waxing too, but I haven't ever followed through. Plus, I apparently live in BFE and no one waxes near here. Like eyebrows, yes, but not legs or brazilians or anything. I'm not driving an hour to be put through pain and then drive an hour back. Sounds like torture!
And I totally am pinning with the house we're looking at tomorrow in mind. A friend of ours knows we LOVE that house. Went to look at it because she was "just curious" (she's in the market and her budget is up to $200k now and she hasn't found a house -- she has to be out of hers at the end of June) and she PUT IN AN OFFER. It was declined, but still. It didn't fit her needs or wants (she NEEDS 4-5 bedrooms and it only has 3, she wanted a different elementary school, etc.) so I'm ticked. Not sharing houses with her if this one falls through!

I would be pissed about that, especially considering it didn't even meet her needs.
One of the other issues is that we don't yet know what our next living situation will be. We don't know if we'll be renting for more than one year, buying a long term house or buying a small condo/townhome to fix up and rent out after a year. It's frustrating and cramping my creative muscles.
Also, not knowing our living situation has limited our ability to get rid of some of our decor. Without knowing what type of home and how much wall space we'll have, I don't want to get rid of any wall decor that I still like, and I have a lot.
My library has an online library, but it's not compatible with ebooks. Ummm WTF? I seriously asked the guy to repeat himself when I initially asked when I got my nook.
I need to go to the library in the next town (which really is like 2 miles down the road) and sign up there b/c theirs are comptabile. I'm not holding out hope that their inventory is good though. I remember someone suggesting joining a bigger library and just paying like $30 for the year since the ebooks were so much better.
I'm hating my job, my boss, my coworkers right now. They're super lazy, forget to do things, pawn things off onto others for responsibility etc. Right now I have 7 actions on my desk, my other coworkers have 2 and 3. Ummm, WTF.
Has anyone gotten their legs waxed? I'm considering it for the summer. I'm a hairy Italian and I'm sick of having to shave every other day.
I have. Not this year yet, but I have. Pros: It doesn't hurt ridiculously, like a bikini wax. The total hairlessness lasts about 2 weeks for me. About 4 weeks before I need to do it again.
Cons: You have to let the hair grow out before you can get it waxed. During the summer, that's a royal PITA. No shorts or bathing suits b/c your hair is growing out. I think it has to be 1/4 inch long or something. Which is a lot when you have dark leg hair on superwhite skin, like me.

Haha. I haven't shaved since Sunday. Hell, I'm halfway there. What's another week?

LOL. I wish I could get away with that. Alas, my swimming schedule means that I feel weird not shaving daily. Argh. Color me jealous.
The H and I have both been sick with coughs and stuffed up noses, so sex...eh, not this week, and I wear jeans to work everyday, so no one really cares right now. I wonder how long I can really hold off on shaving before it just gets too uncomfortable.
I didn't know where else to post this but I wanted to share with the board since we've discussed it in the past...
I passed my Professional Engineer Exam!!!
I now get to put PE behind my name and be licensed by the state. This is literally the thing I've been striving for for the last 10 years of my life. Being a young female engineer in a very male dominated field having those two letters behind my name is a very big deal. Passing this exam was also one of the last road blocks before we start TTC (finishing our reno is now the last one).
*back story for those who don't know* You're not eligible to take this exam without 4 years of experience + 4 years of college from an ABET accredited college. To take the exam I first had to pass a Fundamentals of Engineering exam last October that is a speed test that tests me on everything I was supposed to have learned back in college. I studied 3 months for it. After passing it I studied 3.5 months for the PE with a co-worker 6 days a week. Both exams are 8 hours long. We got through 80% of the 2,000 pages of material in our study book and practice exam. Four people from my work took the exam and only my co-worker and I passed (we studied much harder than the others). We took the exam back in April and have been anxiously waiting for the results.
