Oh shoot, really? I was concerned about shipping getting expensive when we first talked about this idea. Hopefully the things I want will be the heaviest ones. lol.
It was like $7 when I shipped it, and I was the first person to receive it. We did talk about using a flat rate box, then we'd only have to worry about size, but those are decent sized boxes.
But honestly, even at $10 to ship it, that's the same as a regular sample box, and you get to choose.
CJ, I want in on round 2! If you don't want to organize this time, I'd be willing to take over.
OK, my turn! The box arrived on Saturday but I didn't have a chance to do the whole photo thing until today. And of course today is gray and overcast so my photos are crappy. But I think they get the job done.
The contents of the box as it arrived (minus the things I took):
My haul:
Oh man that's blurry. Here's a list:
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
Yves St Laurent Touch Eclat
Sephora Pantone nail polish
Amika Color pHerfection shampoo
DDF Brightening cleanser and Amplifying Elixir
UD Lip Potion
Boscia tinted moisturizer
Kerastase - I thought this was shampoo and conditioner, but I now realize is two packets of a leave in balm. Oops! Had I realized that, I would have only taken one. But the box is already sealed with like 19 feet of packing tape, so oh well. I can put the other one into the next round.
What I added:
None of my additions have been used. I peeled back a little bit of the seal on the Carol's Daughter Hair Pudding (I think that's what it's called), but I never actually used it.
And one of the Stila eyeshadow palettes is smudged, but not from use; it arrived that way. Here's what it looked like when I put it in the box. Hopefully the others won't smudge in shipping.
Also, all three Stila palettes are in one envelope, but I don't see any reason why they couldn't be split up. So if you like one but not all three, don't feel like you can't pull out that one and send on the rest.
cjeanette, I'm ready for jennistarr1's address. This was so much fun! It is way better than birchbox. I'm excited for the next round!
ETA: Also, jenni, there is one item outside of the interior boxes - the Body Shop Body Butter. I wrapped it so hopefully it's sturdy enough to make it to you intact. I think our little Sephora box might be at capacity. lol.

Oh my goodness, I'm so excited...I see lots of stuff I want...I think the person after me has a lot to put in...I actually have just a few things to add so perhaps I'll see if I can get a bigger box???

I looked to see if I had a bigger one but I didn't. If you only have a few things to put in you might be ok. It's scheduled to go out tomorrow, so as long as they pick it up, you should have it Thursday or Friday. I notice priority mail now says 2 - 3 days instead of 2 days like it used to.
Also my shipping was only around $7.50 because they gave a $1.50 discount for doing it on line. Just a tip if anyone is trying to save on shipping costs.

How do you weigh the box? Do you have a food scale (or similar) or is a run of the mill scale ok?

I use my kitchen scale. This box was 3.5 lbs, so it might be heavy enough to register on a regular scale, but I don't know. You could always try weighing yourself holding it and not holding and subtract the difference.
But really, a kitchen scale is so handy. Anyone who cooks would benefit from having one.

I love that UD Lip Potion, I just used up a sample of it! Hope you like it!
Am I the only one who gets a little geeked when you see someone picked out your samples? The two after me, I was all, "Ooh, those were mine! Yay!"
No! I was wondering as I put my stuff in the box if anyone will want it. I hope they do! I think I chose a few of yours. You had good stuff.
What will we do with whatever's left over? I know we're having another round, which I'm excited about, but I mean after that round, or however many rounds come after that. Maybe we can find a place to donate the rest?

Depending on how many people want to participate in the next round I might try to split the final box into two. Typically there is enough at the end of a swap to do this.
If there is just an insane amount of stuff I can donate it though.

I have carrots address and will send Monday here are my additions the the durex warming liquid came from a campaign I did a few months ago consider it a bonus/joke Attachment Deleted
Hey everyone! Someone from another board directed me over here when I was complaining about how many samples I had but will never use. I'm a reg over on ML and I was hoping I could join in on the sample exchange? I've done the ML Music exchange and SS gift exchange as well, and both my recipients are still alive and well. And not skin suits. I've also met a couple nesties IRL that I'm sure would vouch for my non-crazy status. I totally understand if you guys don't want an unknown joining though. Just let me know.
You are welcome! We will have sign ups as soon as this round is finished.
Would anyone be interested in (or have objections to) getting a second box going?
I'm on the first trade, but it seems like it will take 2+ months to get through everyone. I have more than enough samples to do both boxes, and probably 10 more
I'd be happy to send the first box out. I could collect and organize participants as well, unless someone else would like to do it.

I thought we were getting close to the end now. There were only 10 people on the list.

I have the box now...I got it Friday and went to send it out Monday...wouldn't you know that post offices are closed on Presidents day (sarcasm, I always mess that up)...I went to sent it today and missed package pick up by 4 minutes. Come hell or highwater it will go out tomorrow, which I think is the day the last person sent it...so I think it takes a week or less for one to send it, the next to receive it, go through it, and resend
