H and I are going to Puerto Rico in a few weeks...a combination anniversary/I-need-to-get-away-for-a-few-days-before-I-lose-it trip. We haven't planned any activities at all. We just have our flights and hotel booked and a rental car reserved.
Anyone been there before? Any recs you can give me? We're open to anything but we're not really the type to just lie on a beach for hours. We'll be getting there on a Saturday afternoon and leave Wednesday morning.
I thought the bioluminescent bay was fun, we saw sting rays swimming about. We bargained the price down b/c I thought it was a lot.
I went to El Yunque THREE TIMES in my 10-day stay, I loved it so much! So much to explore!
I also liked Old San Juan (went twice) but skipped the tour of the old fort El Morro, too expensive I thought. I still liked touring the area outside it, just didn't go inside. Fun to see the kids flying kites around, too.
Swimming in the ocean was fantastic. The water is perfect.
We mostly stayed on the east half, venturing to San Juan twice.
If you golf, there's a nice course in San Juan.
Oh! We did a booze cruise type thing. That was a blast! We snorkeled and the reefs were beautiful! Bring a disposable underwater camera!
