I'd probably keep them separate but maybe see if you can reconfigure the layout. It can get expensive to move plumbing, but can you bump out the wall from the bathroom into the laundry room? What about adding a stained glass or frosted "window" on the wall between the bathroom and laundry room to let in some of that light? I've seen that done in a friend's bathroom and it actually worked well.
I'd do it. When we finish our basement our plan is to have a 'master' bath/laundry combo. It'll utilize the space better and work for our needs. Sometimes you need to do things that work for you and not worry so much about re-sale later. Is this most likely a house you plano on living on for 10+ years? Yes, then go with what works. If it's mostly a matter of knocking down a wall, then NBD. If someone hates it later, put the wall back up. This is all assuming it's not load bearing.
I've seen people on here decribe having laundry in the master bath as a plus I think. I've never thought about it much because I've never had a master bath in my life. Seems reasonable to me that it would be super convenient there. I bet there's got to be a good way of screening off the laundry bit as well. It wouldn't be a big deal to me either way as a buyer, but I'd be so busy drooling over your windows that I wouldn't notice the laundry (if you are who I think you are). I also think the frosted glass window could be interesting.
I have a combined laundry/kid's bath/guest bath/entry bath. It's amazing! It has way more space and storage than I would with 2 separate but smaller crowded together rooms. It's also really cozy and warm to take a shower when the dryer is on...a definite perk with a toddler in the dead of winter. It also helps me keep the laundry area picked up as the room as another use.
I don't know if I'd want it in a master though. Is there a way into the bathroom that's not through your bedroom? I wouldn't wants kids for example traipsing laundry through my room all day long. Also, noise from the washer and dryer might be an issue when you're trying to relax and sleep.
If you want to do it, by all means, go ahead. It's very functional space that way and I love mine. Just a couple things for you to consider.

do you happen to have a pic handy of yours?
I wish I did. I'm at work though. Just picture a long, rectangle shaped bathroom. Shower/bath to the right of the door, laundry behind the door with cabinets above it and down the side. Toilet on the flip on the side of the floor to ceiling cabinets (so it's hid in a corner so to speak). Sink directly across from toilet (same side as tub). Pretty basic. If I had to do it again, I'd reverse the WD and sink/vanity. The WD behind the door is fine just a PITA as I have to shut it to put stuff in the dryer. I can also never really have front loading and leave it open to dry out without tripping over it. Ours just ended up that way because it's where the plumbing already was/cheapest to install. It was a big enough deal to be worth the decent cost. I do like from the hallway the laundry is hid behind the door so know one sees it.
