Job application question

I submitted a resume for a job earlier in the week.

Today, I got an email saying they received my resume and my skillset seems to fit what they are looking for; interviews will be conducted in late June, if they want to learn more about me, they will call.

Am I expected to send a reply? A short thank you and/or express my continued interest in the position?

I realize I'm likely over-thinking this, but after being unemployed for nearly 6 months, I don't want to do anything to jeopardize my chances for a job.

I agree with Moxie. A short email thanking them for the response and showing your interest can't hurt. At the very least the recruiter might be more likely to remember your name over another applicant's.

Yep, a brief reply - even if it's just affirming they got your email correct - is appropriate. Good luck!!!

Send a short thank-you reply. Good for you, it must feel great that they got back to you so quickly and are interested!

I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I've had several great interviews in the past six months (on my own and through a temp agency) and no offers.
