I don't really like pickles. I have the fried sliced pickles before and they were okay (considering I don't really like pickles). I would eat them again. I've never seen the fried spears but they sound nasty.

I love the sliced ones (not all sliced though- I think the ones at Buffalo Wild Wings suck but Texas Roadhouse has awesome ones!) but there used to be a BBQ place near me that closed that served the spears and theirs were actually good. I have no idea how they did them but they were really crunchy and the coating didn't slip off! Other spears I have had were not so good.
I've never even seen those on a menu here. But I do love fried things. I'd take a deep fried Twinkie any day of the fair. I even host a deep fried night with my friends. Its terrible, but so fracking good.

Weird! Here pickle chips = pickle slices = the coin-shaped pickles that come in jars with pickling liquid. They can be crinkle-cut or sliced plain but they're all the kind that come in jars that are juicy when you bite into them. I've never seen a dried pickle slice or "chip". I just thought they called the deep fried slices chips because they are fried like a potato chip.
I think I'm just very easy to please- deep fry something and give me a good dip and a margarita and I'm set.
I went to yelp and only one place in my county serves them. Apparently they are spears. So basically a failure as far as ML is concerned, right?
Do you have a BWW by you? They have sliced fried pickles on the menu.
So how many pickles come in the BWW appetizer? Will I make myself sick if I eat the whole thing by myself? They sound good but H and all of my friends hate pickles so I'd have no one to share them with.
I can't believe no one mentioned that the spears stay hot on the inside for about a decade, and one inevitably gets impatient and bites into the spear too early and burns the snot out of their mouth with boiling pickle juice.
Look love fried pickles, never saw them as spears though. I used to get them all the time in Memphis when I lives there. I'm starting to see them up here outside DC now though. Along with sweet potato fries. Maybe BBQ nachos will be next to come on up here.
