You've all seen most of this bathroom, but today I finally wrapped up the lingering odds and ends (some caulk, touchup paint, etc) and MIL was nice enough to scrub the construction dirt out of the tub and wipe everything else down, and so I figured I'd give the bathroom a little photo shoot
In all it's finished glory...my hall bathroom!
(just realized you can still see the wet paint where I was touching things up....)
Still could use some art or something on the wall above the towel rod? (any suggestions?) And someday I will wring money from our budget for fluffy new white towels, but for now I work with what I've got.

I'm so envious of your bathrooms . You guys did a great job!
What did you use for the vanity top? Is that a Kohler hand shower? How do you like it? We got a Moen hand shower for our hallway bath on a slider bar, and the bar is great but took my first shower with it last night and I'm not loving the shower head it came with so I'm thinking of swapping it out.
Yep, the thing behind the toilet is a laundry chute.
It doesn't look like the same space partially because to a certain extent it's not. There was some serious re-configuring going on. We stole space from the hallway and the original master closet in order to make this bathroom, and then where the bathtub is in the "before" picture is now part of the master bathroom. Where you see the slanted piece of floor/wall in the before/during pictures used to be a linen closet in the hall. The slant is because it's over the stairs. We had to customize the vanity so it could go over that area. Surprisingly there is still lots of storage under there. It's currently holding a baby bathtub and a bunch of TP. The toilet is now roughly where the sink used to be.
All tile is from the Tile Shop. I have mixed feelings about that store, but I have to admit that they are all centered around an initial CRAPPY sales guy who kinda screwed us over and that since then they've been fantastic. In fact they just took a bunch of stuff in returns well past the technical date (1 year) without a bit of argument.
Vanity top is a piece of travertine. Which I know is going to end up with flaws because it's not *really* suited for bathroom use, but eh. It's not perfect to begin with so they'll blend. We picked it out of the remnants at a stone fabricator's shop.
The fixtures are all Kohler. Not sure yet how we like the shower because we haven't used it yet. Probably take my first shower tonight...officially break it in.

After writing my question about my Moen showerhead, I did some research and realized that the reason I don't like it is because all manufacturers put in flow restrictors nowadays. My first shower last night with ours was so disappointing because the water pressure seemed horrible! This morning I unscrewed the showerhead from the hose and took out the flow restrictor, and the pressure is much improved . So just FYI in case this happens to you too.
It looks great Wawa! It's going to be awesome taking a shower in there for the first time. How is your long list of to do items going?
We're getting there. the IL's have been a huge help as my stamina has waned.
Here, I wrote a novel. Are you surprised?
MH fnished installing the trim in the kitchen yesterday, so the top two levels are now completely trimmed out. That needs to be puttied, caulked and painted, and then a 2nd coat of paint needs to go on the walls in there. And then we can finally put the kitchen completely back to rights with the liquor cabinet and the table in their homes instead of blocking half the island and clear out all the weird clutter that has accumulated.
The baby's room closet doors need a 2nd coat of paint, and door knobs. And the dresser needs a 2nd coat of oil and drawer liners and then I need to get everything in it organized.
The master bath needs some paint touchups and MH needs to clean all his random plumbing crap out of there and then I want to transfer all our toiletries and such upstairs.
The guest room and linen closets both need shelves/hang bars. Neither are MUST haves, but it'd be nice to wrap them up because then the upstairs will be 100% done except for painting the doors. The linen closet is pretty high on my list though because right now we have nowhere to store sheets and towels upstairs.
And the bedrooms all need doors.
That's pretty much it for my "must haves" before this baby shows up.
The nice to haves that I'm still hoping to get done:
The hallway needs to be painted (trim and walls). The hand rail needs to be uninstalled and stained and poly'd. It's up naked right now so I don't fall down the steps.
We need window treatments. Right now we've got paper over the lower half of our bedroom window so the neighbors can't see my bare ass. I want a more workable solution for the nursery and guest room, which both face the street - but we might end up with some dorm room style in there utilizing old towels and sheets and cheap spring rods. I'd dig into my fabric stash and make something more attractive - but the fabric and the sewing machine are both still in storage. So....yeah.
The laundry room needs some love. Desperately. It's currently being used as door storage, so the prehungs that are going downstairs need to find a new home. (the slabs going upstairs will be installed so they'll be out of the way) and then I need to figure out some sort of interim solution since the floors just aren't going to get done in time. I'm thinking a super cheap welcome mat/rug or something and a folding table just so I'm not standing on the bare concrete anymore and I have somewhere to put things down.
Things that I've given up on: Anything downstairs. Barring a miracle, it's just not going to happen until after the baby comes. We'll live.
Getting the doors or the kitchen side of the kitchen/dining area painted. It can wait.
Getting the bookshelf in the nursery painted, having cute curtains in there right away, finding/making a crib skirt. I'll revisit those things after we settle into being parents. The room can get cute for her half-birthday and that'll be fine.
Actually furnishing the guest room. My mom is perfectly happy with a aerobed, a lamp and a milk crate, and MH's family is local. Done. I might go ahead and hang the art print I bought for this room just for shits and giggles despite the total lack of furniture.
Wow I'm impressed! You guys have been kicking butt. Give yourselves a pat on the back because that list used to be a lot longer. Sounds like you have a good plan and even if the baby comes early you have all of the essentials done.
I'm dealing with window treatment problems as well. I think I'm going to venture DIYing but I really want cordless roman shades in the master bedroom and bathroom. I think I have a plan on how to use a nice white roller shade with a separate fabric piece in front to get that look but it might be tricky. Also I want to DIY some pinch pleat curtain panels and a grommeted extra long shower curtain. Sewing is just never something I got really into but I think I know enough to do these...plus my mom may help. Also we're going to DIY some PB knock off curtain rods. And then we have that little thing of building a complete wooden closet system with multiple drawer units...sigh.
