Friday - L worked from home in anticipation of the kids getting out of school early (due to snow.) Amazingly, there was virtually no traffic getting to the airport at 5pm..in the snow and my friend's flight was only an hour late from FL. L left to go write as soon as we got home and we stayed up way later than my usual bedtime chatting.
Sat - kids/cats woke me at 5:45. Sigh. Kept the kids quiet so R could sleep till 8 and then it was futile. We took the kids sledding and I wiped out big time when I tried to copy the kids surfing down the hill on their disc. Ouch. We went to a museum in the afternoon and then were going to go to a hibachi dinner, but we were both exhausted so we got take out and went home.
Sun - Once again, the cats were up at 5:35 and I could not go back to sleep. Kept the kids quiet till 8, fixed breakfast, did homework with the kids, and took R to her first Wegmans experience. Our friend came over to hang out and we sat around, noshed, and chatted while the kids played. Took R to the airport at 6:30, fed the kids a late dinner, finished getting ready for the week, and crashed watching the SAG awards.
Friday night we hung out at home and watched a movie/played.
I made breakfast, then J took A to pick out a pinata and candy for her birthday party. We stuffed the pinata and put goody bags together when they got home. A wanted to get a new Mexican outfit for her party so we drove around town looking for one, we met up with the IL's along the way and went to their house. Apple was being crazy so we left, J and I ended up fighting when we got home. We cleared things up and watched a movie.
I had the big girls help me clean yesterday, they weren't too happy but we got to play when we were done and they got to make cookies. Dinner, play, and bedtime.
Friday - I had a work event which K and Jelly Bean attended. JB absolutely loves live music and wanted to hang out in front of the stage the entire night. The event went to 8:30p but when the CEO saw me around 8pm she insisted I go home. I was exhausted and done being on my feet. I think I was asleep on the couch by 9:30p
Saturday - Lazy day at home while K ran errands then we all went to our friends' house to celebrate their son's bday.
Sunday - JB had a play date with a friend we met through the boards. It was nice to chat with a mom-friend while JB made a new friend.
Jen's mom was here visiting but neither of us were feeling well, so it was low key - a lot of just hanging out playing with the kids. My sinuses are so screwed up that I haven't tasted or smelled anything for days. Saturday afternoon my mom came over to watch the babies and we took her mom into the city to have lunch and go to our favorite bookstore. On Sunday Jen and the babies took her mom to the train station to meet her mom's husband - he flew to Chicago and took the train from there to here for fun and they were taking the train home together. I would have gone too but our car isn't big enough for five people. Instead my parents came and picked me up and we went to lunch and went antiquing. Last night we gave the kids baths and let them play for a long time, then put them down and made a nice dinner and had a quiet evening.
I woke up this morning feeling like I got that stomach bug again. I am ready to be healthy again

ElsaVonM did you go to Powell's? SO jealous. Love that place! Hope you feel better soon.
Friday: My rescheduled haircut (from when I was sick) was after work. A surprised me by meeting me there and said she had dinner reservations at a favorite place. We had a delicious dinner and drinks out and had some good convo about things that are going on at her work.
Saturday: We slept in. Had brunch, were lazy, took a nap, dinner. Just a completely relaxed day.
Sunday: More time together just focused on each other. I never take for granted the time we get together as it can be spread out due to work and schedules and distance. We are hoping that change will come for the distance issue but it's relying on her work and whether there will be changes there. Hopefully things will be figured out in the next few weeks.

B day weekend was AMAZING . Oh wow we stayed out till 4am and drank and danced ( well i watched I dont dance I hope the walls up) and then we slept in the next am not much but the 4 hours of un interrupted sleep were awesome - Bloody Marys the next am yummy brunch at home. It was a break M and I needed.
Friday night we pretended we were several years younger than we are. Ha. I met up with friends for happy hour that turned into too much alcohol. One of my friends had brought a coworker who is practically fresh out of college. After we'd been drinking a while our friends went to the bathroom together, and this girl I just met leans across the table and tells me she's "on my team" and wants to know whether she should tell my friend (her coworker). Good times. We all ended up back at her apartment and I texted DW to join us instead of going home, and we generally acted like we were 21.
Except we're really not, so then we spent most of the rest of the weekend recovering from it. We watched Season 5 of Big Bang Theory and worked on planning our trip and pretty much didn't leave the apartment again.
Yep, Powell's. People are never as appreciative of it as I think they should be. It's a 3-story bookstore the size of an entire city block, with the computer/tech books in a store across the street b/c they don't fit. What's not to love???

Apparently I can't quote and reply at the moment. Grr. I just wanted to say that Powell's is amazing. And I love the art on the new book you got, super cute!
