we have some errands to do - going to negotiate with the place that took dd's pictures - we have an appointment tomorrow morning. They told us we'd get the pictures in RAW so we bought a LOT, when we got them they were jpeg so dh was NOT happy. Sounds like they'll give us half in orders (prints or framed stuff or whatever) and half in a future credit - I'm happy with that!! Just have to work out the details tomorrow. Oh and we have to get passport pictures for our citizenship aps and we're going to a movie (dark shadows) on sunday - sil is coming to babysit! Will be busy I guess!
Morning! Well, H has to work tomorrow so it'll be just like any other day for me. He has a big international company meeting happening -- people from branches from all over the world are in town so he's had a busy week. Tomorrow is the last of it.
I'm excited for next week though. There's another holiday which means more time with DH!
Today I need to finish a chapter (so far no luck with even getting started because it seems so overwhelming). We have friends over from out of town so tonight we're going to make Surinamese Rotis together and see a movie. Then tomorrow DH and I are getting on the train to see the other GBCN-ies! Sunday I am predicting sleeping in and relaxing all day. So it should be a good weekend!
It's Maifest in our neighborhood. We are going tonight and then I'm hoping to go again Saturday afternoon. Beer, food, and live entertainment. Should be fun!
Sunday I have a interview with a family. Then I am hoping we can go to the Lincoln Park Zoo. We've been trying to got for the last month.
And we can't forget that it's International Childrens Day! Today is Phố Friday for us, then taking DS out for dessert. Tomorrow night we are having a Mexican dinner night with friends..it's rare around here, so when we do it, everyone gets invited. Maybe we will get to the beach as well. We'll see.
Happy Friday! H is going out tonight for the opening of a club he decorated and I'm having some mom-girlfriends over for drinks while the kids play. Tomorrow night SIL is babysitting, so H and I can have a nice dinner out. Sunday is Mother's Day and I have no idea what my boys have planned.
I can't even tell you how happy I am to have a long weekend. This has been the week from hell! So busy. I'm just planning on sleeping a lot, having some booze and watching dvds/reading. The weather sounds awful so I'm probably not going to venture out a ton...plus London will be insane with the Jubilee and my DH hate anything to do with the monarchy so he wouldn't go with me anyway.
Friday at last. I am so so so happy it's here. Between the visa issues, a really problematic student and endless construction outside the house, I haven't slept, haven't eaten worth crap and am generally exhausted. After yoga class today and the post office for the visa, I'm going home. The plan is to watch a movie, eat something easy and go to sleep...and Saturday I intend to sleep as long as I want. After that, I'm going to work on copyediting a thesis I have to get done. But we already agreed to NO PLANS this weekend. I'm so relieved.
We don't have any real plans, other than I'm thinking of inviting some friends for a rooftop brunch on Sunday since the weather seems to be collaborating, and also of picnic-ing in Central Park sometime today or tomorrow. I've been a day ahead all week, this so feels like Saturday to me.
We should get around to going to the frame store, maybe. Then what else?... oh, packing too.
We've been staying in London with friends during the generally splendid weather and enjoying all the Jubilee decor and festiveness. It's been great catching up in this marvelous city. We'll be going on soon to Croatia for a few weeks prior to our trip to Egypt. This weekend it will be more socializing for us and also we'll see Snow White & the Huntsman, my idea not his. It's a tough life but someone's gotta live it.

The movie was really good! We got to see it early on Tuesday. I had no expectations and I really liked it.

Thanks for the info, I'm looking forward to it. I like medieval/historical/fairy tale"ical" movies and I will be happy to see Kirsten Stewart in something other than Twilight. Also, Charlize Theron looks downright badass. I like when nice actors and actresses challenge Hollywood typecasting conventions.
Sunday I empty our storage locker of baby stuff and try and figure out how the hell it is going to fit in my house without resorting to another ikea run.
At school we've switched to summer schedule, which means we'll be working until 2 instead of 4:30. I'm thrilled! This is also my last "free" weekend because I'm starting online classes on Monday. I'm nervous, but excited! I don't know what we'll do. Maybe I can get DH to leave the house and not do our lame Saturday routine of having pre-lunch beers in the neighborhood.
It's starting to thunder. Hurray! I love thunderstorms here.
