I have three going, which is unusual for me. Wuthering Heights for book club here. The Tell-Tale Brain, which is nonfiction about neurology and evolution, focusing on the things that are specific to humans. Pretty fascinating, but I needed something that required a little less concentration for bedtime reading, so I picked up Ann Patchett's Bel Canto for a re-read.

I'm about a third of the way through Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential, and wondering if I will ever eat at a restaurant again. I also have two books waiting for me at the library: The Leftovers, (which my town is doing a town-wide reading of this summer, so I need to read it, because there are about 20 people on the waitlist after me), and The Great Gatsby, which I have never read because my high school English dept. was lacking.
Sadly, my busy season at work starts on Monday, so I have no idea if I'll even get through them all. I may just skip checking out Gatsby and get it later.
I am reading Wizard and Glass, which is the third book in Stephen King's The Dark Tower series. I had a lot of trouble getting into the series as I didn't really like the first book, but after hearing and reading a number of recommendations that it gets better I picked it up again. This book is much better, and (contrary to King's MO) the first two are pretty short.
I'm reading The Devil and Sherlock Holmes: Tales of Murder, Madness, and Obsession. It is a bunch of non fiction stories. Some of the stories are really interesting like the story of a French con man who pretended to be a missing teenaged boy from Texas.
I'm still working my way through the Swan Thieves. I'm not liking it so much but I feel like I need to finish it. It's a library ebook and I only have until the 9th.
I'm finishing up To Kill A Mockingbird (it is VERY different than how I remember it from 8th grade). I'll start Walden this week, followed by Huck Finn.
Audio book - The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot E-Book - City of Shadows by Ariana Franklin Real book - Lady of the English by Elizabeth Chadwick
5kcandlesinthewind - read his latest book Medium Raw. He talks about how the industry has changed for the better since he wrote Kitchen Confidential.
I'm a few chapters into Let's Pretend This Never Happened by the hilarious Bloggess. I'm loving it so far!
@ panicked - To Kill A Mockingbird is one of my favorite books ever! I read it for the first time when I was maybe 25 or so. I'm glad I never read it in school because I just don't think I would have appreciated it as much, or that it would have the same effect on me.
I'm reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. It's really good, but I'm not really feeling the dystopian thing right now. I'm thinking about taking a break from it and reading something cheerier, but I'll probably soldier on.
I'm almost done listening to The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson. It's enjoyable, but nothing phenomenal.

I just finished The Magician King so I downloaded Bird in Hand by Christina Baker Kline and The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister from the library.

I started Their Eyes Were Watching God yesterday and I am of course plodding away at Wuthering Heights as well. I have tomorrow off from work, so I'm hoping to make a big dent in both.

I'm reading "American Made: The Enduring Legacy of the WPA" by Nick Taylor. I had high hopes for this book but its a little too anecdotal for my tastes.

I'm reading The Fire in Fiction by Don Maass (my writer's block seems to be gone, hoping to fine tune what I've been writing lately!) and I plan on starting the Bachman Books this weekend.

I've got 3 books going right now:
11/22/63 (~50%): LOVING IT Wuthering Heights (~33%): It's ok. I'm glad we have the discussion to keep me accountable Bossypants (~10%): Funny and quick. hope to finish soon.
Also, Insurgent is ready for me at the library, hopefully I'll be able to start this weekend.
I'm still working my way through the Swan Thieves. I'm not liking it so much but I feel like I need to finish it. It's a library ebook and I only have until the 9th.
I really, really hated that book. It was sooooo boring. Everything that worked well in The Historian went terribly wrong in this one. I didn't end up finishing it; I just googled until I found a review with spoilers, and then tossed it in my To Be Donated box.
And 2curlydogs, thanks for the info about Medium Raw. It's on my to-read list, so I'll try to get to it sooner rather than later to restore my faith in restaurants.
Love and War by John Jakes (#2 in the North and South trilogy). I love it. It's taking me forever to read though because it's so long but I really enjoy this series.
I'm almost done with The Handmaid's Tale, and then I think I'm going to start either The Catcher in the Rye or The Elegance of the Hedgehog, because I have both out from the library right now.
Just started Little Bee and like it so far. Still reading Wuthering Heights and Real Boys. I'm next on the list at the library for Insurgent so I may stop everything if that ever comes this week.
