My dog will get up out of bed about 20 minutes in and dig at the carpet (like a cat on a scratching post)? It's become a nightly routine and I have no idea why but we're getting holes now. I'll start with a nail trim but any other suggestions as to what he is trying to accomplish

I know sometimes my dog will do this until he's able to find a comfortable position/spot to lay in.

Maybe put down a blanket and see what he does....
