I probably won't watch. Although I grew up as a Niners fan, have been to their games, had guys from my high school play for them, and girls from my h.s. cheerlead for them, I'm just not that into sports. K isn't into sports either but she may meet up with one of our guy friends just for an afternoon out. Oh, and that's the other thing. Watching the Superbowl in EST is so different than watching it in PST.
Oh, and that's the other thing. Watching the Superbowl in EST is so different than watching it in PST.
yeah! not that i've ever watched in in PST, but i hate that its on so late!! it would be a great male bonding thing for Sprout to watch it with my bro, or his other uncle, but I just can't let him stay up so late on a school night.
(and no, this is not me saying that only males like football...that's just how it happens to come down in my family - DW and I couldn't care less).
Couldn't care less. Cecilia will want to watch. I think she has some pre-made buffalo wings in the freezer. Isn't Destiny's Child doing the halftime show? I guess I am mildly interested in that :-P
We always watch it but neither of us are NFL fans, J likes college ball and I just don't understand the game, I do like the commercials and halftime show usually. I'm guessing we are having wings, not sure what else, J hasn't shared her plans with me.
L and I could care less. I don't' even understand football. But the kids want to watch it and it is a big deal around here since the Ravens are playing. We'll watch the first half or so (that is about as late as we'll let them stay up and about as much interest as they have.) We'll have a little Superbowl party with snacks, etc and let the kids wear their new Ravens t-shirts I bought. I'll watch the half time show since a co-worker is dancing on the field while Beyonce is singing and I want to see if I spot her. I might flip back to see who won - but I'll probably be able to tell from the yelling (or lack there of) in my 'hood.
I didn't realize until yesterday it was coming up this weekend, so that tells you how much I care. We may turn it on because it's culturally important, ha. But since we're not big football fans, our home state teams aren't in it (DW's family are big Packers fans), and local teams aren't in it, it definitely won't be a big deal.
We skipped it for the first time last year - at this point, any good commercial is going to be available online anyway. But my dad loves football and loves to watch it with Henry, and we usually spend part of Sunday at their house anyway, so we're going over there. We requested nachos and Lil' Smokies
And I am totally loving watching all the live stuff (Super Bowl, awards shows, the Inauguration etc.) in PT. Very efficient

We're going to a friend's house for a smallish party to watch it. I don't really care that much about the game, I'm not really a pro football follower and will probably spend most of my time chatting with friends and running after a three-year-old who is sure to be overwhelmed with excitement. At least he'll be in good company, some other friends of ours are bringing their guy and they love to play together, and it's nice when we can take him to things like this without having to worry about finding a sitter.

If I could get E into football we would watch it, but she's not really that kinda girl. So maybe we'll tune in for the halftime show since that would hold her attention for a bit.

I am a bad bad bad DYKE and have no idea about foot ball or most sports SOCCER yes ... but most other sports i pick based on colors... I KNOW I KNOW ... But I did live in bay area so I am a 49'rs fan but not gungho and really could not tell you anything other than they are from SF.
I AM IN FOR THE FOOD! which since i had surgery I can barely eat! Commercials are fun too and halftime used to be exciting but na - We are doing a Superbowl party with our LGBT family group some of these gals are GUNHO. I was just telling Melanie we should dress the girls up or something and she laughed and said NO, we are not going out to buy them GAME ATTIRE! Then she said well we can dress one kid in red n gold and the other in black n purple. Our BFF are HARDCORE ravens fan they are from Baltimore.
We're big football fans. We'll be watching from home, just the three of us. K is making chili and I am making buffalo chicken.. dip? fingers? Jury is still out. The game is too late and I'm too tired to watch it anywhere but home. I'm rooting for the 49ers because I love watching their QB.
We usually watch. DW is still very upset about the pats so she is boycotting. It is just too fresh right now. That and the homophobic crap coming out from the 49ers players just isn't sitting well here so dowton abbey it will be!
