Alright, here is my attempt at creating an original thread. And is completely random, but I figure what the hell?
I love music, all kinds of music. I think I have a pretty ecclectic array of music on my iphone and different music speaks to me when I'm feeling different things. Today feels like a Country Music kinda day so that's what I've got playing on Spotify (love this music sharing tool!). Yesterday was an electronic dance music kinda day so I listened to the new EDM station, Evolution. Although, no matter what kinda day I'm having my real music love is alternative rock. Linkin Park is by far my favorite and I finally saw them in concert 2 years ago and it was awesome!
Anyway, now I think I'm just rambling so anyone else feel the same way? What music is speaking to you today?
I'm watching Pitch Perfect while planning my menu/grocery list for the week. I love all music. I have so many songs on my itunes/Amazon cloud that I've lost track.
On longish car trips my husband and I will play the radio game. Which is where we set the radio to the scan feature and when it hits a song we stop it. The first person to guess wins a point. It defintely becomes quite competitive as my husband is pretty good And ever since they made that Shazaam app we can now verify the songs we disagree over the answer on.
I have discovered tha the Mumford and Sons Pandora station is the best ever. Right now my 5 year old is obsessed with the FUN. Album, so we have been listening to that non-stop.
For most of my 20s I attended several shows a week, but I've gotten old and lazy. My 31 year old body can no longer function on 5 hours of sleep and then be productive at work
Ha! I understand completely. We only went to so many concerts last year (3, for the record) because they were on either Friday or Saturday nights. I did, however, score Garbage tix (YAY!!!) this morning, and the show is on a Tuesday night. We have GA, as well, so my old ass will be taking a vacation day the next day to recover. But it'll be worth it. Because GARBAGE! I still want to be Shirley Manson when I grow up.
My iPod is almost all alternative (Smiths, Pearl Jam, Fiona, etc. etc.). I think with the exception of Adele, Regina Spektor, and Amy Winehouse, every artist on there has been around for 20+* years now.

(*SOB! I am Ollllllllld)
This is where I am. Totally out of touch with recent music. Lately it's been Pixies on the computer. And I had a bad time of it when Sarah Records when out of business in 1995 Indie pop love over here. I cannot remember my last show. I think it was Belle and Sebastian ages ago. I wanted to see Magnetic Fields at symphony hall on NYE but that doesn't fly with the kids and I have issues with shows bringing on episodes so I haven't been in forever
I am too embarrassed by my musical preferences to participate in this thread.
Don't be, my tastes vary greatly:) Even with my love for the darky and twisty that alterna rock brings me, I love me some pop tart, boy band, top 40's goodness. I won't admit to Beiber Fever but damn it if the boy doesn't produce some catchy hits. Same for TSwift.
I'm still upset at myself for not going to the NKOTB/BSB concert in Boston last year. Or was it two years now?
I wish I could go to more concerts but it seems like all the ones I'm into are so freaking expensive so I have to be choosy.
