Yikes! Talk about nervewracking. She was awesome and loves to decorate. She and her asst. even do staging on the side, so that definitely made me self-conscious about my decor. Luckily, she loved it and loved our house. She gave the normal pointers like removing clutter, making everything more open and taking down the huge canvas prints of or sons (shocking!). She also said she and her asst would come in and stage it for us. The idea of someone coming in and decorating makes me sad b/c I love to do it, but oh well! They know what they are doing, I am sure. I am not sure of the price yet, but she doesn't think our house would be on the market long, which was nice to hear. Let's just hope it will be priced higher than what we paid. Anyway, thanks for your suggestions the other day.
I thought of you when she was here and how yours came back high. It's stressful having someone go through your home telling you what needs to go, stay, etc. It's like it all of a sudden doesn't feel like our house, even though we have no immediate plans to sell.
I agree, it's nerve wracking! You are basically asking someone to judge you.
Curious, why did you have a realtor come if you don't plan on selling?
Well, we were seriously contemplating buying IL house earlier this week. It depended on what we could get for our current house. We decided against buying theirs, but it did make us think that maybe we should start getting our house in order to sell. We wanted feedback on what we should do to our place to make it more appealing to a buyer. So, it's not that we have ruled out selling. We just aren't full speed ahead like we were a few days ago.
Also, I am always looking at houses online b/c I like houses. If we were to come across a hose we were interested in, I would like to already have an idea of what the house selling process is and have an agent picked out, kwim?

I told our agents I didn't really want to remove our big portraits because we had nothing to replace it with and I thought portraits over a big ass blank wall was the right choice. They said just take anything and everything with Monkey's name on it out of the house or put it away in storage, since someone could try and lure him if they know what he looks like from the photo and his name from the random shit. OOooookay.

Oh Lord. That is silly. Our lady said that someone could walk in realize they know us. I am fine with taking down the big canvas ones. They are BIG. I will wait on the smaller ones, though. It never bothered me when I saw family pics in houses we saw, but whatever.
I think they want us to take down the pictures so potential buyers can more easily imagine themselves living in the home. If our pictures are out, it reminds them that someone else lives there. But, whatever. I don't want to take down our pictures either.
