So Aiden now has an imaginary friend. Her name is Kayla. She is a baby elephant. She has been around for a few days now. Aiden talks to her and follows her around the house. And I think we are giving her a birthday party this weekend. But Yesterday he started with blaming his bad choices on kayla. For example, yesterday he was touching something I told him not to and kept messing with it. When he got in trouble he told me that Kayla was the one touching it and he was trying to get her to stop. Then Aiden threw a fit because we didn't have a dinosaur movie to watch. After he calmed down he told me that it was Kayla who was throwing the fit.
Aiden is almost 4 1/2. I don't want to constantly tell him Kayla isn't real but I'm not sure how to handle it when he blames things on her.
I'm not sure about how to handle it but I have definately heard that imaginary friends are very healthy. I had one named Peggy and my parents told me that one day I started screaming and crying because my dad ran over her when he was backing the cat out of the driveway, and I never said another word about her after that day.

RIP Peggy! It is actually pretty cute to hear him talk about Kayla. He told me she is camouflaged to match the house so I can't see her. He was also introducing her to everyone at Publix the other day!
