I'm unsure as to what I want to put on the windows in my breakfast nook. Some days I want panels, other days I think I want roman shades. I just can't seem to find something that is quite right. Privacy isn't an issue as our neighbors don't have windows on that side of their house, and we like how much light comes in, so if we did do a roman of some sort, it would always be at least halfway open. I definitely think there needs to be some color and I'm leaning towards yellow. Do you think panels are too much for a kitchen/breakfast nook??
Ignore the ugly table. We will be purchasing a new one soon. Probably round and black.
Wall color is SW Spalding Gray. I've been eyeing up these fabrics to make curtains
If you have a better idea, please share. My H is starting to get annoyed that I can't decide and is threatening to put up cheap mini blinds if I don't get something soon!!

I like the top fabric a lot. I think I would do roman shades because the left window isn't going to give you a lot of space to hang curtains to the side of the window.
I like the first two fabrics. The second one seems like it would be a lot thicker and more of a blackout weight though.
Curtains are easier and usually cheaper. You can easily swap them out when you change your mind and they don't permanently block any of the window like romans. And they don't have cords like romans unless you go cordless which is very pricey.
I like all three but agree with lshoes that the third ties in nicely with the existing color.
Also, I would do roman shades; something about full length panels basically in a kitchen just doesn't seem right to me. I know some people here do it, but I wouldn't.
could you make a faux roman shade out of the fabrics? If you don't need it to function it could just look like it's in the up position. I like fabric #1 a lot.
Thanks for the input! I ordered swatches of fabric 1 and 3, but I think I'm most leaning towards 1. I may try to make a faux roman myself and if that works out, I'll go that route. If it looks like shit, well, then panels it is!
I have a swatch of the 2nd fabric and it's very thick. More of an upholstery thickness so it would only work for a window treatment that has more structure. I think most windows look better when they're dressed with fabric. If you like the natural light, a faux roman shade would be perfect and if you don't plan on using it, I'd mount it above the window so you don't lost any light at all.
