Are realtor call to let us know that a house we wanted but already had an offer maybe coming back on the market. The inspector discover that their was a difference of 4.6 inches from the front of the house to the back. The inspector noted that there was no structure damage and that is normal for that area. He recommend if they want to get a structure engineer. Our realtor thinks we should make a back up offer. Would this deter you from purchasing a home?
our old house had the same issue. we got TONS of offers. We were also told it's totally normal, and ours didn't cause any damage. We had a structual engineer out to check everything prior and he said he wouldn't recommend doing a thing to it.
If I heard that a home had that problem, without being educated, yes, it would deter me. But again, it didn't deter one person on our home. Our offers were all above asking price too.
Thanks, how much does a structure engineer charge?
