I woke up and spent the past 2 hours researching full day kindergarten and magnet schools. I have yet to give birth. I really need something to do. I feel like I have zero hobbies. I don't play sports, I'm not artsy or crafty, I have no unique interests like rock climbing or 16th century Chinese art. I like going to museums and reading, but those are not really hobbies. J gave me his old Nikon D80 (he's really in photography) yesterday and it seems to not be my thing. All the pictures look like crap. I'll keep trying though.
I'm so much better in the summer. I go hiking, running, swimming, stuff outside. I think SAD is very real.
Any good hobby ideas for women? I'm going to go to the library tomorrow in hopes of inspiration.
Last, those who have yet to meet me, I swear I'm not this boring in real life.

I've always kind of felt the same way. Baking used to be my big thing but I've branched out into regular cooking as well. Since staying home with the kids I make my own sauces, dressings, sometimes bread. It's relaxing for me. I also recently borrowed my grandmother's sewing machine and have found following a pattern isn't all that hard, especially for baby items (I don't recommend starting with a floor to ceiling size play tent, still working on that one). I'm not creative at all, those 2 hobbies work for me because I can follow a recipe or pattern
I know working out indoors isn't the same, but staying active and upping my vitamin D seems to have helped a lot with my winter blahs this year.
My hobby is GBCNing. . I know, I have friends who have really cool interests. But I'm so tired after working, I pretty much cook and sleep and that's about it.
Being out of work can be really boring. I think once you have the baby, you'll be missing this quiet time, so just enjoy doing whatever your heart desires!
Winter is tough. I would hibernate in winter if it was socially acceptable.
Maybe volunteer? Do you like writing, you could take a writing workshop. Or maybe since you just got the camera you could take a photography class.
When I quit my job and was unemployed for 5 months before we moved here, I got a very part time job at my favorite boutique and I LOVED it and it gave me something to do and I got 40% off. If you could find something you enjoy an easy part time job might be fun.

Check the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE). They have a lot of fun classes that are very affordable. I've had friends take language, cooking, dancing, sewing, and pottery classes.

Ooh, that's a great idea! I'd love to take cooking classes if I had time & money for it. Good way to meet friends too.
