It was good! Saturday we got the baby's picture taken, hung out with my mom for a while, and made a birthday treat for my friend (a bowl of frosting).
Sunday I did food prep for the week while my mom watched Baby S. I made and froze this pot pie casserole: www.annies-eats.com/2013/01/23/vegetarian-pot-pies-with-feta-scallion-biscuits/ Then I made and froze veggie broth, chopped veggies for dumpling soup and stir-fry, and made one of my favorite pasta dishes for dinner. Whew! I was exhausted by the end of it, but the rest of the week should be MUCH easier now.
Friday - Lazy night at home. A handyman/friend came by to look at the leak we found in the basement.
Saturday - I actually got up and left the house by myself for a few hours to run errands. It was soooo nice to try on clothes without a child trying to escape the dressing room. Oh and I scored the best deal! At Babies R Us I picked up a new Graco Snugride 35, regularly $160 for just $90! Best part is that while not the same pattern, it is green/black/grey just like the Snugride we used with JB. So now we have car seats for the twins.
After I got home we all ran errands, including picking up the ring I got for Christmas (that was out getting sized). :-)
Sunday - lazy, lazy, day at home doing much needed paperwork. Around 5pm we finally left the house to go buy a new couch.
Friday was a nice night. The SW visit was quick and easy. We agreed to get on the list for respite and short term placements, so its back to watching the phone After that we ate and put the kids to bed, then DW and I watched Argo (thanks Duchess!). It was a nice little date-night in.
Saturday morning dance class got cancelled so I hit the gym while DW brought the kids to chuckie cheese. I met them there and we had lunch. Home to put the kids down for nap and I ran out to the grocery. Sprout went to basketball, my dad came over to look at a down gutter, and we made cookies (I hoped it would be a cute photo op, but not so much). Then I did a sensory project with the kids (cornstarch and shaving cream - fun!) before heading into the office. DW fed the kids and put them to bed. I got unfortunate news about a job I applied for that has me bummed.
Sunday we went to church then to my parents' house for a while. We got home much later than expected. We let the kids watch Lorax (in prep for our next lorax-themed sensory box, lol) and ate apps for dinner.
Friday - L picked up the kids and I picked up take out. L was in a mood due to work/stress/dissertation and was not pleasant. I was not sad to see her head out to the hotel to write.
Saturday - I putzed around the house, took the kids to swimming lessons and did a bunch of errands. Went home and got the kids to do the Valentines for their class and help me assemble goodie bags. I put up the new marble maze in the playroom and was surprised how much fun the kids had with it. We met L for dinner (thankfully in a somewhat better mood!) and then I went home with 2 very tired kids. I stayed up too late doing some stuff I found on Pintrest and designing invites for L's party.
Sunday - Busy morning of laundry, kids' homework, cleaning, etc. Met L for lunch and then went to Target. Sent the kids home with L and went to the grocery store all.by.myself. It was delightful. Finalized the invite design, made turkey zucchini chili, and watched the Super Bowl with the kids. They were super into it, which made it fun. Let the kids stay up a bit late to see the half time show and then wish I hadn't as it was way too sexualized. After the kids went to bed, we watched the game while L reconciled her dissertation references and I looked for fun food for her to make for the party on Pinterest. Went to bed way too late for me.
Friday night started a little sketchy. The kids are used to visits every friday night, and every other week tapering is (necessary) and strange for them.
Byo pizzas helped. And the kids liked one of my favorites-the wizard of oz! Still amazes me that a movie made in 1939 can hold my kids interest.
Sat-grocery shopping & cleaning. My dad took the girls to a build a valentine workship at home depot. So cute.
Sun-2 other families came over for a non superbowl get together. Kids made valentine crafts and played wii. Nice to share some parenting with other parents
Saturday we traded off watching the kids and working on job applications/networking/etc. Lady Baby is pretty cranky right now - lots of teething, and she wants to stand but can't pull herself up yet, so she whines until someone props her up somewhere or helps her stand. I made Thai chicken soup for dinner, so good and easy.
Sunday morning Jen and Lady Baby both took long naps while Mister Baby and I played (and watched The West Wing). When they got up we went for a run since Jen signed us up for a mid-March 8K. It worked out well with the baby jogger - Jen runs faster than me, so I took them at the beginning and then she picked them up when we met where she was just past the halfway/turnaround point and I was not quite to it. So that way we each pushed the 50-60 extra pounds of baby and stroller for a little less than half of the run. After that we went over to my parents' for the Super Bowl. My mom (characteristically) made way too much food for four people, but it was fun. Mmm nachos. The babies took good naps during the first half and had fun playing and sitting with Grandpa during the second half. I actually enjoyed the game itself for once too. Got the babies to bed late and watched a little DVR.
We were errand running machines! A lot of schlepping, putting away etc. LMC is sick again so we didn't do as much as we had planned to. Two kids in school for the first time is brutal, cooties galore. I am over it.
We did go to my mom's yesterday which was so nice. The girls adore her and it makes me so happy to see them together.
I also assembled PBS' birthday invitations (how is she almost 4?!) and picked up Valentine's Day cards for both classes.
I tried my hand at yogurt making. It'll be ready in an hour. I hope it worked since DW gave me such grief about doing it.

Friday night E and I had pizza and a movie night at home. A nice relaxing end to the week.
Saturday: E was up at 7:15 and clearly needed more sleep. Silly girl can't seem to sleep in when she needs it. We made breakfast and practiced her spelling words. I spent much of the morning/early afternoon cleaning the house and doing laundry while she played. We did Valentines in the afternoon. She helped me make dinner. A came over to visit in the evening.
Sunday: E was up at the crack again. Still cranky pants. We facetimed with my parents and then A got up and we made brunch: belgium waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, eggs, turkey bacon. Yum! We hung out with A for a bit and then she had to go home to pack for leaving for Portland today for a month. E and I took my car to get the oil changed right around the time the Super Bowl was starting and it was great because we got right in! Home to make dinner, more spelling practice and an early bedtime for miss E.

Yes! I was going to ask you about your decision to give meat to the girls. We aren't planning on it (at least with a child we have from infancy). Now if we get a 3 year old who already has some formed opinions about food, we might have to loosen the reigns a little bit. I've been surprised at peoples reactions to us not giving meat to Baby S. Shocked! Really, people? I haven't eaten meat in 20 years. I'm not giving it to my baby.

Friday - I worked late. C was really mopey both because I was working and because she's having a hard time with her advisor at work. When I finally was done working, we watched Th Mindy Project pilot and went to bed.
Saturday - We slept in, then ran errands and did some clothes shopping. Came home and did some stuff around the house and dinner, then went out with friends for drinks.
Sunday - C worked while I read for a while and meal planned. We went grocery shopping, did some meal prep for the week, and then ate our "Super Bowl" dinner of apps/snacks while watching non-Super Bowl tv.
We did pretty much nothing, and it was kind of nice. Saturday DW auditioned for a choir she is joining, and Sunday we went grocery shopping. That's all the leaving the house we did. We watched The Lincoln Lawyer and the Superbowl (during which we ate chips and dip and pizza rolls, but were too full to make the pigs in a blanket we had considered). DW made amazing cookie dough cinnamon rolls for me, as part of the baked-good-of-the-month gift she gave me for Christmas. Yum.
